How are all of you frisky, friendly and fabulous 50 year olds doing? I'm 50 this year. I felt older at my high unhealthy weight. It's weird that I feel younger now.

Yep, Totally! The stuff I'm doing right now that is so much easier to do and to do it for a lot longer period makes me very happy, the mirror always brings me back to reality though when i see my old mug lol, but my mind don't have a mirror so feeling young is great.

And I'm still out here, 72 and in a holding pattern. After the 25th I am hoping the gears will start turning again. Maybe May? Certainly before summer or I'll make the 6 o'clock news. You've heard of the Million Man March? Tune in soon for the One Fat RedHeaded Picket Line outside the Ohio State University-Wexner Medical Center front door! I WANT MY SURGERY!

Hey all! I’m 51 and had my bypass on March 26th, 2018. I am a surgery nurse so knew what the surgery entailed. I’m down 28lbs now. My struggle has been getting my fluids in- I worry about going back to work and being able to get the opportunity to drink as I get pretty weak if I don’t hydrate!! Working in the OR does not give me the luxury of keeping a water bottle by my side. Any other surgery nurse bypassers out there? Also, had my first dumping yesterday!! Aweful!! Guess I ate too fast?

Well done so far. Amazing results. Good for me to hear what the real struggles are re the Water. I can’t help on the nursing side but hope you can manage. Everyone say just sip, sip, sip. Hopefully your team at work will be able to support you. I’m scheduled for surgery in 5 days time. I really appreciate reading everyone’s thoughts, struggles and tips.

keep me in your thoughts and prayers, I am also 72 as you may have gathered but I feel the Perpetual Bridesmaid in the Weight Loss Derby,i help, others get ready, calm their fears, then watch them go by on the last 500 yards to victory. Meanwhile my day for surgery eludes me.,Maybe. MAY? I will know a little more after April 25th, I do hope for good news at that time. You did it, I will too. I refuse to give up, we have at our mutual age, grit, determination and spunk. I will use all 3 as it is necessary to gain my way in and onward until I receive my victory as well. 😝

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
