Social worker at a Substance Abuse Center. I used to be lead counselor at a residential site however due to chronic pain due to my weight and a back injury (which is why I'm getting surgery) I was "laterally transitioned" to be the Assessment Specialist in the beginning of August because it's less work. I miss my old position sooo much!!!! But I was missing a lot of work due to back related injuries from a car accident in 2011. I'm lucky I still have a job in the field I love I guess but I guess I just haven't settled into the position yet. :-/

Social worker here, working on self care! I work for a school with a lot of people and I'm not comfortable telling anyone my business, but if you've ever worked at a school you know how people gossip. This is my biggest concern regarding the surgery. I know I shouldn't worry about what others think but I'd be lying to myself if I said I didn't. Anyone else feel this way?

911 Dispatch Supervisor

This has got to be be a very interesting job. It takes a very strong person.
@@justme29 -- it is indeed interesting! Thanks! Hardest, most stressful job I've ever had. I'm 10 days post op & already worried about being on my game when I go back. No room for mistakes!

Congrats on getting through the process. Keep going! I am still working through the kinks. But I am a debt collector. Probate Collections. Some days I feel like I'm a licensed therapist though. I love helping people through the tough time. But in the end, collections is the job role. Just be patient with yourself.

From all the posts, it does seem we take jobs to care for others.

.

I'm sure you hear a lot from people! That's not an easy job. I hope your process goes nice and smooth for you. I had to self pay and wow... talk about easy when the money is all right there for them. Jumping through all the hoops would be worth it though!! My insurance has a very clear policy about WLS. No. LOL! Keep on keepin on!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
