Your husband and baby better be careful. My husband had a RNY 9 years ago and I gained so much weight eating his leftovers!

I don't know why people's stories surprise me, I know people are a hot mess but I cannot believe some of the stuff that comes out of their mouths.

Mine isn't that bad, just something I am not used to. I have a husband and a kid that is almost 2. Now both of them know that I am not into sharing my food but we went out to eat and they were watching me like vultures. And when they knew I was slowing down they came in for the kill and raided my plate. Now pre surgery me would have been in the parking lot fighting them both but can they at least pretend that my food is mine??!

.

YES! My husband gets offended that I don't want to share. We shared food presurgery, but for me it is like an ownership thing post surgery. Even though I can't eat it doesn't mean I want to share it! Also, I think for me it's a bit psychological. I haven't quite figured this one out for me.

I'm the exact opposite. I NEVER shared food before surgery, but now, as soon as I'm done, it's fair game for my husband. If he's not around, my extra food usually goes straight into the trash, so at least when he poaches off my plate, I know it's not going to waste.

Trying to remember everything every day.

supplements

Water

Protein

Exercise

Aspirin

Log food

Get enough calories

Wait 30 minutes

Amazing how before I Just ate in oblivion. I gotta make a schedule. I either forget my supplements or my aspirin or don't get in enough Water or fall short on Proteins or calories.

If I eat a bite of something "naughty" my husband just looks at me and shakes his head. It's annoying! I know he has my best interests at heart but I eat right 95% of the time. This is a lifestyle, not a diet.

I'm also pretty content most of the time though! WLS had been an amazing journey.

I'm with you....it's just the day to day that peeves me. Always watching....

Couldn't care less what some idiot from my world has to say about my weight loss or what they think.

Ya'll are funny!

I never even thought about either one of them gaining weight because of my leftovers. DH is one of those people that can eat whatever he wants and never be fat.

I probably don't like getting asked how much I weigh NOW. Its none of their darn business! I started about 3 weeks ago telling people at work because they thought I was sick or something. Cancer? Problems at home? DH works at same place and he has lost about 10lbs since March. I have gotten tired of people asking what the "number" is on the scale. I flat out got tired of it and now I smile and tell them feel free to ask any question about my journey but I won't tell you how much I weigh (smile). I will tell them that I am on track and let them wonder what the scale reads....jeez.

About 95% of the people I work with have the courtesy to NOT ask. I unfortunately feel like the one who are asking for the "number" are the people that are potentially going to try to sabotage me. Most of us know who have lost weight over the years and regained it all back about those kind of "friends/family". They are either stick thin folks who are worried you may draw a second of their attention or they are possibly a bit over weight and don't want the "fattest girl/guy title" in the room title - that you know longer have :D

haters....

My pet peeve was that in the beginning, I lost most of my weight from my butt and legs, just where I needed it the least. It took months before my waist was noticeably smaller. I realize that this is a ridiculous complaint since the weight eventually came off everywhere, but I was so disappointed in the way I looked early on.

Now my new peeve is that I have a great deal of loose skin and am not sure I can afford plastic surgery and have been denied by my insurance. After losing 140 lbs, insurance should cover some skin removal. This amount of loose skin does not look normal.

@@IcanMakeit Yes I agree they should or at least pay a percentage for the people who are really affected by it! I had the exact opposite issue I lost from every where but where I really wanted which is my thick legs! They are finally getting there, I was actually able to zip up a pair of those boots girls are always sporting in the fall. I was so excited! I always wanted to wear that look but my calves where always way to big so they would never zip on me and the plus size extra wide calve ones just looked reduiclous and not flattering. It's the little things skinny people take for grant.

This may sound funny, but I get so uncomfortable with all the church peeps raving about how great I look and how proud they are of me. I'm not one who likes being the center of attention.

And then one person said this: "I was telling my husband that I would just do the quick and easy thing and have the surgery." I wanted to slap her. I said "if you think weight loss surgery is either quick or easy, you are not a good candidate for it." And I left it there.

Otherwise, there's really nothing I don't like about this!! Oh, I hate shopping for new clothes. Okay, that's a lie. I love it. I love how great I look in my jeans today. And I love that while all the other parts of my have gotten smaller, my boobs have stayed the same!!!

Mine is...Sales Associates. Mostly in higher end retail stores. When I was heavier...and needed help...no one was ever around. Now that I am much thinner...I have sales people (men and woman) falling all over me. I can't take 5 steps without a sales person asking me..."is there anything I can help you with." I have lost and gained weight many times...and this is something I have noticed each time I lose weight. It makes me sad for my heavier self. And anyone else that is discriminated against like this. My income level does not change....with my weight.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
