Possible Dumb Question

Recommended Posts

After surgery your stomach can only hold 4ozs, does that mean you can only drink 4ozs at a time as well? How can someone get in all the required Proteins with that little consumption?

I am really concerned about Hair loss. Being fat is one thing but being fat AND bald as a woman = too much to bear!

Fluids slip throught your sleeve faster than food. I drink 12 oz in a very short period of time every morning. The first week that will not be the case, but after that, I had no problem with liquids.

Most people will lose hair, I am 12 weeks out and just starting to lose some. They say it will return someday. I would plan on losing some of your hair, sounds like it is a given. I am glad headbands are in style, I will be using them. :)

I never lost any hair. Make sure u take Biotin supplements and get enuf Protein. And the above poster was correct - u can drink an eternal amt of liquids. They go right thru. Thats why u need to b careful with stuff like milkshakes, ice cream, juices, smoothies, etc....

Good luck!

It probably came up because you drank it too fast. Our stomachs are smaller. Even though liquids flow through fairly quickly, we still have a pyloric valve so it isn't instant.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
