Rapid Weight Loss -- What are the physical effects?

Recommended Posts

I have lost 80# in three months post bypass. Other than some Hair loss, I am noticing having less energy than normal, and am wondering if this is tied to the fast weight loss. I initially had trouble getting the Protein and Water down, but with tips from others on BP, have now nailed that routinely.

For those of you who have lost a bunch of pounds rapidly, what did it do to you?

I'm two years post-op now (actually, two years and nearly three months) and for me, the one biggie was Hair loss. It took a long time but all of a sudden my hair came right: after months and months of moulting like a demented cat, it slowed down and also stopped being so dry. I do get a bit of tiredness from time to time, but I think that's more to do with a heart problem I have.

for me its the opposite, i have more energy now than ever. i have learned though if i don't keep my Proteins high my energy will suffer, also i use some carbs ( from all natural Peanut Butter mostly) pre workout to really pick me up.

I use a locally made Peanut Butter with just one ingredient. peanuts. yes you have to stir it up. but man it helps.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
