Yogurt has natural sugars, but the Greek ones are lower in sugar. Ralphs (west coast) and Kroger (Midwest) have a low-carb yogurt that’s low in sugar. If you’re not against sugar substitutes, artificially flavored yogurt is a good way to go. Some have been mentioned on this thread. Cinnamon helps, too. So does cocoa powder if you like chocolate.

Also, I’ve found that changing my attitude helps. I was brought up to think of yogurt as sweet – my favorite used to be the fruit-on-bottom apple-cinnamon kind – a ton of sugar! Now I tell myself that yogurt is not supposed to be dessert, and changing my expectations actually helps – I look forward to the lack of sweetness now and enjoy the plain types.

Thank you for the ideas! I do enjoy plain yogurt alot, just looking for a little something to add to it, cinnamon and cocoa powder are good ideas. I also like putting pumpkin pie spice on mine :)

Yes!!! I love the texture very creamy! A bit more tart than even the Greek. I use Siggis brand and they have an amazing pumpkin one and an orange ginger I love!

I hadn't heard of the icelandic yogurt, thanks for sharing.

Be aware that all "greek" yogurts are not the same. True greek yogurt is extensively strained to get the whey out which then leads to thicker, more condensed yogurt with more Protein.... Yoplait (and others) are not true greek yogurt as they use additives and fillers to thicken the yogurt, so if you are concerned about getting true additive-free yogurt, check the label for things like guar gum and pectin, carrageenan, sodium citrate, potassium sorbate, corn starch. I know this doesn't matter to everyone, but it did to me when I learned so thought I would share. I personally eat Fage, which as no fillers, additives etc added.

Dannon Light and Fit Greek - Cherry is my fave! I add some cut up grapes and strawberries to it, and voila - it is fab as a meal or as a treat -- also have added choc Protein Powder (I use Vega One) to it, chilled it, and you have a super-tasty shake/frosty-type delight :o)

I am also a fan of the Dannon Light and Fit Greek. I like to add the Toasted coconut vanilla into milk and add a handful of fresh berries for a delicious shake.

I recently saw a post about mixing SF pudding with Fage Greek yogurt. The post said to take a tablespoon or so of SF pudding with a tablespoon of milk(lactaide) and mix and then quickly mix in the yogurt, however, it didn't state how much yogurt to use. Any ideas?

What a cool thread. Have learned so much already.

My fave yogurt (thus far) is Dannon Oikos Greek non-fat vanilla yogurt. It's 120 calories, 12 grams of Protein. Totally worth it to me.

Recently, hubby brought home, by mistake, Dannon Oikos Greek non-fat Black Cherry yogurt. At 130 calories and 12 grams of Protein, it's worth the extra 10 cals.

They're my usual evening Desserts. So delicious! I treasure every lick. :)

Try Oikos Triple Zero; zero added sugar, no artificial sweeteners & no fat. It is sweetened with stevia and has 15 grams of Protein. My favorite is Coconut Creme.

Oooh, there's another one I want to try! The pudding mix in the yogurt.

Look for Dannon's Oikos triple 0 - 15g Protein, 0 added sugar (stevia), 120 calories. I love all the flavors, but the coconut creme I mix with my chocolate Protein Shake to give me a "I'm eating a Mounds bar" feeling ;-)

These are very good and I love that their made with stevia.

I eat quite a bit, but it's homemade from my goats' milk and I usually do a savory yogurt topping rather than sweet. I'm a HUGE fan of parsley, pickled onion, and beef.

WOnt do yogurt its got wayy too much sugar in it for me, i stick to sugar free pudding and Jello. all these zero added sugar, well duh because the sugar is already in it. Marketing to people trying to lose weight is infuriating to me.

The sugar that is in it already is naturally occurring lactose which is in all milk products, including cheese, milk, cottage cheese, ricotta cheese, etc. If you make pudding with milk or buy it made with milk it has the same sugar in it. Lactose acts very differently in the body than sucrose, fructose, etc. Much lower glycemic index.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
