Ugh. Not really wls related but I'm just having a pitty party and feeling sorry for myself. I'm 2.5 weeks postop rny, and just as I was starting to feel completely recovered from suregry I now have the worst sore throat, cough and stuffy nose. I guess the one silver lining is if I would have gotten sick a week ago, I would be in miserable pain everytime I coughed.

I'm passing my box of tissues onto you...and here's a hug, as well... Ask your surgical team if liquid Tylenol and liquid Mucinex is okay for you to take. My team okayed it, and it helped a lot. Because OF COURSE, you can ONLY get sick at the worst of times!!!!! Bless you and get well soon!

Get a vaporizer at Walgreens, CVS, or Walmart. They run about $16 around here. If it doesn't steam right away, add some salt. Stay away from air vents or fans. Put it next to where you sleep on the floor. Your sore throat will be better in the morning. I lived with throat infections for years and now have it mastered. Good luck and feel better!

hope you get to feeling better. be thankful you didn't get sick right before surgery either and possibly cause a delay...

Feeling your pain....it always happens to me at the worst times that I get sick and it never fails. I can get through so much and then just as I feel "ok" and can catch by breath. BAM I get sick.

Feel better, keep resting and I hope you get well soon!

Good point! That was my biggest fear pre-op that I would get sick, requiring my surgery to be postponed.

Love this idea! Totally getting a vaporizer. Literally feel like I have glass shards in my throat when I swallow.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
