My surgeon told me horror stories about people taking the wrong OTC Vitamins.

Someone else on here said they were taking Flinstone's Children's chewables with Iron. I love those, so I'm going to ask my surgeon tomorrow if I can start taking those instead. I'm sure he'll say no, but it never hurts to try.

I'm taking Bariatric Advantage right now. The chewables quickly became unbearably nasty to me, and the capsules are like taking horse pills. Definitely not something I would ever want to voluntarily take, but man if you heard some of those horror stories. lol

I just had to have him sign off. I also am doing the Flintstones with Iron. The cost difference is so with it! He just gave me a break down of the mg that I needed of specific Vitamins.

My nutritionist said that Flintstone chewables Complete are perfectly fine. I buy the Walgreen's version as the Vitamins and minerals in it match and they are much cheaper.

I wish I would have known that the gas pain in the hospital could be in my shoulder instead of my stomach. My left shoulder hurt so bad. I never had much stomach pain at all.

To be honest, I'll probably switch even if he says no. My body has decided it doesn't like swallowing the capsules anymore.

I wish I knew how hard it really and truly is to make good food choices. It sounds easy, the menus offered look easy but there are so many "hidden" things in foods that eating out is a challenge. Because I travel a great deal, i'm constantly battling menu choices and options for high Protein, low sugar foods that can be eaten on the go. A person can only take so many Protein Bars.

I wish someone had told me that there is a mourning period for never being able to eat like you did. My surgeon told me he could take care of the "belly hunger" but not the "brain hunger". That is something I deal with every day. I have NO REGRETS in getting the surgery.

I'm assuming this will subside tho right? Will you always be fighting a battle of brain hunger its like completely retraining your body of bad habits this takes time I've a feeling this would prove great difficulty for me when I get my band fitted next month

The best way to do battle with it I have found is stay occupied. Don't sit in front of the TV that's my worst time. A good saying goes well here. Idol minds are the Devil's play things. Best of Luck. I'm with ya on this one. Brian

I wish I knew and believed that I would reach my goal and continue to lose before my one year anniversary. I wish I knew that when I was crying and frustrated at three month post surgery, because I had not lost a single pound in 30 days.

For me, I just did not understand how fast my wardrobe would become obsolete. I used to live in baggy dark clothes so I could hide my body.

Now, I hate wearing clothes that are too big for me. I want to show off how great I look. Currently I own 1 pair of jeans, 1 pair of black capris and about 5 tops that actually fit me well.

Oh, and by the way for me I lost the weight in my butt first and 1. Your underwear get too big really fast 2. Your darn tail bone sticks out and your butt hurts all the time!

On a good note, I absolutely love that I can walk into Victoria's Secret and buy underwear, bras and pajamas! I secretly coveted that ability for years and now I live to buy and wear pretty underthings. And Lane Brants Cacique just does not compare to the feeling of putting on a pretty VS bra!

My two cents.....

I'm still not there yet, but I too covet friends that can shop at VS! I can't wait to buy a pretty matching set and feel sexy!

I hear you. Really haven't found a Protein Bar that doesn't have that awful "wang" taste afterward! I try to always carry BOOST shakes with me in my purse, and wherever I'm at, if I start to feel shaky or just tempted to hit McDonald's, I'll get some ice and drink it. (They don't have to be refrigerated) But I struggle too, because it's just me at home and I work nights to boot! I try to keep cheese on hand, the individual serving kind, and lots of yogurt. It's hard though, when you want a real meal in a hurry. I keep/pack in my lunch the individual oatmeal too. There's one, (a banana flavor) that is 10 grams) I have caved recently and bought frozen pre-cooked chicken-strips, but I did gain this week, and I think they are the culprit because they're breaded. I'm almost disappointed that I can tolerate all my foods now, lol.

I wish I knew what a life changer it would be. While I am still me inside, my outside is changed so much and I feel so much more confident and am definitely treated differently by some. That slightly angers me by the way.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
