Hi all. I had my surgery yesterday, and I'm having a great deal of trouble getting comfortable to lay down. My stomach is very bloated. Can anyone tell me how long this is to be expected?

Make sure you are walking and taking gas-x strips or chewables i have found it helpful to hold a pillow tight to my stomach while sitting or laying on a bed..once u walk alot the bloating feeling will go away

I was sleeved on 3rd and I sleep in my recliner. I still can't bend over and pick something up off the floor bc of the muscle in my abdomen

The first five days after surgery I slept sitting up, I felt it strained my muscles too much to lay down and hurt extremely worse to try to get up without help. After then I was able to lay down on the couch & use the cushions as support to get up. I'm 8 days post op and haven't had any pain for 2 days! Just hang in there... We all feel your pain!

I'm two days post op and I have the same issues. Still in a lot of pain, especially with gas that just won't pass. I will say I feel better everyday, I'm just trying to make sure I don't get dehydrated. Keep us updated on how you're feeling!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
