1 day after

Hi all. I had my surgery yesterday, and I'm having a great deal of trouble getting comfortable to lay down. My stomach is very bloated. Can anyone tell me how long this is to be expected?

  • I'm two days post op and I have the same issues. Still in a lot of pain, especially with gas that just won't pass. I will say I feel better everyday, I'm just trying to make sure I don't get dehydrate

  • I am still passing gas and I had my surgery on Monday. But it's definitely better each day that passes

Hi Erinjb, glad all went well with ya WLS, sorry I don't have any info for you my surgery is tomorrow.

Make sure you are walking and taking gas-x strips or chewables i have found it helpful to hold a pillow tight to my stomach while sitting or laying on a bed..once u walk alot the bloating feeling will go away

I was sleeved on 3rd and I sleep in my recliner. I still can't bend over and pick something up off the floor bc of the muscle in my abdomen

The first five days after surgery I slept sitting up, I felt it strained my muscles too much to lay down and hurt extremely worse to try to get up without help. After then I was able to lay down on the couch & use the cushions as support to get up. I'm 8 days post op and haven't had any pain for 2 days! Just hang in there... We all feel your pain!
