I am doing well. It does get boring with the puree foods. Keep up the good work!

My surgery date was July 17, 2015.

I was lucky to meet another surgery candidate while at the NUT ed session the day before our surgeries, and we have kept in touch. She only lives 4 hours away from me.

Her journey has been quite different than mine, she went into cardiac arrest on Day 2 and was taken to ICU. Of course the hospital staff couldn't tell me and I was so worried. She stayed in the hospital 5 more days. Meanwhile I was frantically calling her house and leaving messages. When she finally called I was so happy to hear from her!!

She is a nurse so I really appreciate her advice about all things bariatric, and I mail her my larger clothes.

She is kicking my butt in terms of weight lost, I am doing better than she is with exercise.

She no longer has high blood pressure, I no longer have diabetes.

Its a very good connection, I am grateful.

JenyP,

My surgery went very well, I was off pain meds the first day, (except Tylenol for my caffeine withdrawal).

I am down 57 pounds, now. My waist measurement went from 44 to 36.

My bariatric buddy from Eau Claire who went thru at mayo Clinic the same day as I did, tells me she has lost more than 90 pounds.

They say we are all different, and I know she had some pretty scary issues with hers. She's much better now, and no longer has high blood pressure, but is experiencing some shoulder pain.

Me, type II diabetes is under control, and only yoga class makes me ache.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
