Hi debkel, I add a little applesauce to my cottage cheese, I just started a 1/2 tbls of tuna as well. Hope that helps!

I was also sleeved on April 30. I'm down 28lbs to date. As for Protein try at least 2 Protein Shakes daily. I just returned to work on 5/25, and while I was home I walked at least 2-3 miles 4-5 times weekly. I joined the gym

and continue the same walk regimen until I'm cleared to do weights.

Stalling will incur however try to fit in some walking. Buy a water bottle (32 oz ) and sip, sip, throughout the day. If you can sip 32 oz at work start sipping and try to finish the remainder at home.

It is a constant challenge but it's a phase to create some adjustment. Try coconut ( plain) Water. It consist of potassium that may give you a bit more energy.

Hello Guys

One week post op. I'm getting in 64oz and my Protein with no issues.

Tips: Drink supper cold ice Water this will allow you to drink more in less time. It should go straight through your stomach. Feeling a little full wait 20m and you should have more room. Also it will help with the swollening in your stomach.

Second: use Protein isolate non flavored. More protein in smaller amounts plus easier to digest. Mix it into the Water so your getting both at the same time. The protein milk shakes will sit in your stomach too thick to run through to the intestines like cold water.

Extra: I'm taking two Multivitamins a day before bed and when i awake. Notice the difference in energy and not getting cold hands anymore

Lastly: I've taking two teaspoons of flaxseed oil to get in a small amount of fat so my body stays in ketosis and drink a little bit of juice for small amount of carbs.

I was sleeved on 4/27 and down 26 pounds from surgery date. I haven't lost any the past 2 weeks. In fact I gained a pound last week and it took me a week to re-lose it. I am eating 400 to 500 calories a day and for the past 2 weeks have been working out 6 days a week. Most days I do not get anywhere near my Protein goal or Water goal. Doc said to eat 800 to 1000 calories but there is just no way right now. I get hungry, really hungry even but sometimes I can't get when I am hungry and buy the time I get to eat I am no longer hungry. Or I can only eat 5 bites. I want the food I used to eat but I know it is a bad idea. I also think of my sore muscles and know how hard I am working so it really is not much of a struggle. I do really miss soda though.

It does sound like we are all experiencing similar issues right now. I did finally drop 2 more pounds. I tried a Protein Shake yesterday and it went well. I could not stomach them right after surgery. Hopefully that will help get my Protein in.

Agreed, we all react different. I was sleeved on April 30, and am down 38 lbs since going liquid on 4/28. I have 2-3 Protein shakes each day which really helps to get to 90gm of Protein, and meet my h2o goals. SW 319. Surgery 314, CW 281.

Thrilled for the start!

@@NewNewMe - I was sleeved 5/6 and I hit a week stall that ended today. The hydration is the only real issue I have had as far as intake. Having bathroom issues again and the Miralax seems to do nothing.

Sleeved 4/29. HW 221, SW 211, CW 193 5'1"

Am able to get Proteins in pretty well with 1 or 2 shakes and foods. Water can be a struggle - only about 30 oz daily.

Thinking that it would be great to start a Private/ Secret Facebook Group with you guys since we are all around the surgery date. Anybody interested and know how to get it started?

Hi Everyone,

I had surgery on 4/20/15 down 35 or so pounds.

My WLS journey/plan is a little different my surgeon and NUT does not promote the Protein drink at all. I eat 3 meals a day soft foods 1/4 - 1/2 cup of food per meal including 2-3 oz of Protein no snacking, however when I get hungry I will eat a piece of cheese or lunchmeat.

I returned to work on 5/18 and I haven't been tired yet thank God because I returned to 2 jobs. I'm thinking because I don't do a lot of exercise and I really need to but that may be why I'm not getting tired.

But I'm afraid I'm going to fail because I'm not exercising and I'm snacking.

I need to be more accountable about counting calories. Does anyone have an easy calorie counting plan?

@@LisaAlwaysSmiling My Fitness Pal app on your phone is probably the easiest and most effective way to count your calories. I find it very helpful for tracking my Protein. Best of luck to you!

Congratulations on your surgery and progress! I have to say…it’s looking good! That’s a ton of weight to lose in three (and now four) weeks. Stalls are discouraging, but they happen. They also end if you stick to the plan.

Some people find shakes and bars to be helpful for getting in the Protein. Since they can be sweet, some people find them more appetizing than “substantial” foods like chicken, fish, and yogurt.

For both food and drink: remember the importance of convenience! Get your food ready the day before or in the morning so it’s ready for you when it’s time to eat. No excuses for skipping meals! Between meals, keep the Water bottle nearby so you don’t have to try to remember to drink enough. Prepare your drink beforehand, whether it’s slicing up lemon for your Water or brewing up tea to make iced tea.

About being tired: It can definitely be a side effect of the WLS diet. You’re cutting calories – which means you’re cutting energy. What you can do to support yourself during this time is take care of all the other things that could be making you tired. Are you getting enough water? Sounds like you may not be, from what you mentioned. Dehydration can make you tired. Are you getting enough sleep? Are you taking your supplements? If you get Iron deficiency anemia, you’re going to feel tired.

      Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

      Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
