Share ideas, What did you eat today ?

So I don't normally post my weight until my weigh-in at the Dr's office - but this one time I think I'll make an exception - this morning I hit 100 lbs gone forever! :cursing: To Celebrate I am donating 100 lbs of food to my local food bank - see photo below!

TODAY:

B: mocha latte Protein Shake

L: mocha latte Protein shake, 1 babybel cheese

S: 1 babybel cheese, 1.5 oz, goldfish crackers, couple Gummy bears

D: about to have 2.5 oz. grilled pork tenderloin, 1/4 c. smashed potatoes

S: will have 1 frozen piece cookie dough

CONGRATS!!!! How exciting! It is amazing that you lost 100 lbs AND you did something amazing for your community! What a way to Celebrate - I think I may do something like that as well!

Today:

B - coffee

S - Kashi Roll Bar

L - Bowl of Broccoli Cheddar Soup from Panera - which I never do but was craving it and decided it was worth the 350 calories

S - WW PB Bliss Bar

D - Piece of cheese and bite of Pasta

Dessert - way too many brownies...don't know why i made them....felt like baking and now I paid the price w/way too many calories :mad2:

Exercise - one hour body sculpting w/trainer.

That's AMAZING!!! You should be so proud of yourself!

b: oatmeal with pb/syrup, 250 cal

l: lean cuisine, 290 cal

d: probably another lean cuisine, 350 cal

s: i'll try to not have one, but just in case- 130 cal (goldfish)

Total Cal= 890 without snack, 1020 with

Gym: none- again. foot.

TODAY:

S: 1- 90 cal pack special K crackers, some guacamole, frozen piece of cookie dough

D: 1/2 c. smashed potato mixed w/ greek yogurt

S: 1 chocolate truffle

Today:

B - coffee

S - a few goldfish & ww pb bliss bar

L - margarita and few chips w/salsa

D - 1/2 ear of corn, couple bites of chicken

S - couple bites of brownie

I just realized I haven't had much to eat....no wonder I am hungry. Will probably have a snack - cheese and crackers or something.

Exercise - walking - nothing too major.

s- half cucumber w/greek dill dip

l- half tuna wrap

s- colby jack cheese stick w/wheat thins

d- 2 chicken wings, 1 corn on the cob

l: a fish lean cuisine...surprisingly yummy! 290 cal

d: no idea. i might go out. might not.

s: i'm craving ice cream. i'm going to slurge i think and get a small cup. :thumbup:

yesterday:

B: yogurt and granola

L: a pear and some pirates booty (thanks for the tip on that kcmagu i love it!)

D: a whole bunch of cheese and some fruit (at a lapband meeting)

workout: none...back still hurting...still struggling to get back in there.

Yesterday.

B: Two eggs and 1 reduced fat cheese string

S: 1 reduced fat cheese string.

L: 5 OZ chicken breast and 2 OZ of cole slow.

S: 1 sugar free popsicle

D: 6 OZ of BBQ pork and beef, 3 OZ of stired fried string Beans.

S: 3 cubes of Water mellon.

Gosh, I have been eating so much. Up till yesterday I've had 3 fills and up to 5.4 cc. I had no restriction. Today I got another 0.5 cc to bring the total fill to 5.9 cc. I am on lliquid diet today. Hopefully today's fill will put me into the right place and with some proper restriction.

B-coffee w/splenda (I forgot my breakfast)

L-grilled chicken, mashed potatoes, cole slaw (I need a fill)

D-salmon, mashed potatoes

      April Surgery
      Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

      Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

      Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs. 
      I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm. 
      I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order. 
      My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

      Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
      Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
      A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.

      I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
      Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
