Just an interesting FYI..... I was watching Oprah the other night & Dr. Oz was on with obese teens... and they were comparing items and Regular bacon vs. Turkey Bacon was on and guess which one was better for you????

REGULAR bacon!!! Apparently the Turkey Bacon has 70mg MORE sodium than regular. The fat & calories were pretty much the same.

I don't know about you but I HATE TB... I'd rather have the regular and now I can justify it!! :frown:

Just thought I'd share!

Upon reading through the many posts on this thread I have a question regarding many of the menu's. I've noticed that some of you eat such a tiny amount of food during the day. Doesn't the body go into starvation mode with so little nutrients coming in which makes losing weight harder?

i have found myself eating more vegetarian meats like the sausage patties and chicken nuggets because i heard they are easier going down.

does anyone use these products and do you find them easy to go down or do you have a problem with them.

thanks for the feedback.

L: 2handfuls of kettlecorn and a bite of cheese (

D: Filet of baked tilapia, a 1/2 of a cherry Icee

S: 3 handfuls of kettle corn ;o( (Actually ended up giving my friend the bag because it was addicting)

Boy it seems like I'm eating a lot!

With the new site that I'm using (myfitnesspal.com) to journal my food, I'm posting everything as you can see because I really want to see just how many calories I'm really eating. This is new for me. Way back when when I tried counting calories, I found it to be to time consuming. But it's easy now!

I've calculated my calorie intake to be at 1,200 a day to lose 2 pounds a week.

So far so good, even with all this food.

I am with you cyncity. I looke like I may eat less than you and haven't lost a poind in over a year. I am in the 800-1500 range depending on what is going on in my day to day. I have even tried to eat heavily caloried foods for a couple weeks to trick my body (thinking starvation mode) and cut back to normal. Still no gain or loss. Do you think we have a set point that is natural to us? If I ate like my husband who is a couch potato and is skinny I wouldn't be able to get off the couch.

Anywho...

b* bowl of wheat chex w/2% milk

l*3 ounce grilled burger w/cheese and green Beans

s*home made salsa and about 5 baked totilla chips

d*more salsa and a small breadless Ruben (in a bowl and baked)

later*2 glases red wine

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
