My name is Robin and I recently underwent Lap-Band surgery. I am like 10 days post-op and have been adjusting to reintroducing foods. I decided to do the Lap-Band because I feel it is less invasive and also it is something that you can have removed later, if you choose. I have over the years made several attempts to lose weight and would have temporary success and would soon hit a plateau after losing like 10 lbs., that has been very frustrating, to feel like you are doing all you can to no avail. I needed something that would help control my appetite and I feel that this is a great tool. I have had a very good outlook and felt completely comfortable with this procedure and my Dr. Roy Schwartz, he puts you at complete ease and always check to see if you have any questions or concerns. I discovered this website through Google search engine, and I plan to use it to its full capacity. I found myself searching YouTube trying to find others that have undergone this process, just so I could connect with others that are on this journey and are sharing in their journey. I find myself needing to talk or ask questions to see if what I am experiencing is normal or what to expect ahead. I am looking forward to being able to do things that have been such a limitation for me before and just enjoying life without feeling weighed down.

Welcome. The board is not always busy but if you post a question and wait, someone will answer you!

Don't be afraid to ask - hearing the experience of others can be so useful. But remember - sometimes answers may be "tough love" and not what you want to hear!

Welcome! My band was the first in a series of changes that have me living a new and happier life. No regrets. This website is one of my several support systems. Stay connected!

Welcome! As the other posters said, this site has been a tremendous support and wealth of information and personal experience. There aren't as many bandsters since the forums were all put under the BariatricPal site but there are certainly enough of us to get your questions answered or your worries eased.

You can also PM folks if you want to discuss something offline. I've been on this site since just before my surgery and I have made some very good friends here..as @@JustWatchMe can attest. And @@KateP is a long term bandster who had maintained for many years. I hope to be just like her and stick around on these boards to let people know that WLS can and does work.

Good luck and glad to have you here.

Hello,

I am just recently beginning my journey. I just registered a new account with The Bariatric Pal and this is my first post to any forum on any topic ever. I have obtained all the necessary tests and doctors appointments. The only two things I have left to do are having an upper endoscopy and finalize payment. I have decided to keep my procedure to myself because right now I do not want to be judged by people. My struggles with weight are effecting my emotions and the way I feel about myself and it is such a personal and private topic that I don't feel comfortable talking about it to people who I know and love and who love me. This is also difficult because I am usually an open book about my life. I don't know if I will choose to keep this to myself forever but for now I think it is best for my situation. I wanted to know if anyone else has struggle with this decision and have any advice for me.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Thenewlisa

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
