Is lexapro causing slow losing?

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved on April 6 and to date have only lost 22 lbs. I rarely eat. I should be losing more weight. The only thing I can think of is the lexapro? Any insight

Nope. Medications don't make you gain or retain weight unless it is in the form of Water weight, which your medication should not be causing. They do however make you hungrier and as a result one of the side effects listed may be weight gain. I use Depo which is notorious for causing weight gain, however ultimately I know that if I eat more, I gain and if I don't eat more, I lose, so the problem is not the depo as much as the hunger it creates.

Also, 22 pounds in roughly 5 weeks is completely normal. I think at about 5 weeks I had roughly lost 20 pounds. Slow and steady wins the race. Keep following the plan and you will see results.

Are you meeting your Protein and Fluid goals? If you rarely eat that may be why the loss has stopped.

What is normal? I have lost 23lbs since April 6. It's quite disappointing to me. I feel like a did this for nothing

Definitely could be. I gained 10 pounds on it (post-sleeve) and said nooooooo thank you. My doctor switched me to a new med, just FDA approved called Contrave. It's part appetite suppressant, part Wellburin. It's made all the difference.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
