So I'm following the pre op diet very well, so much so I'm surprising myself. I've lost 11#s.

However, I feel worn out, and weak (started feeling like that @ day 2 and it hasn't turned around.) activities I can usually handle with no issue (i.e yard work) leaves me needing to take breaks and not work at my usual pace.

And since yesterday I've had no appetite at all. I only got in one shake, Water and Soup. Today, the same. Oddly, I feel bloated which is what I think is suppressing my appetite, and I'm taking gas x to help.

But I've eaten nothing to give me that bloated effect...

Any thoughts, suggestions?

I am right there with you. Today I could not care less about food. Diarrhea has overtaken me from all the liquids. no fun! I'm ready for the surgery, how about you?

Yes, totally ready for surgery. I'm a little concerned about recovery since I don't feel 100% now, but am ready ready ready!

Oh, yeah, you guys are ready! Think about your normal meal, then compare it to what you are having now. Are you really surprised you are weak? Enter starvation mode, which will be with you for quite awhile now. Your body is going to fight it, and go into a hibernation, of sorts. But this is just the beginning, and I hope you have researched this whole process well. After your surgery, you will look at your meal and say "you're kidding, right? You want me to eat that whole thing?!" or I'll have another swallow of that "DELICIOUS" Protein shake ....later....". Yeah, I'd say you're ready! Good luck to you both, and Godspeed.....

@@CanyonBaby Thank you. Oh, I have done some research. I have read everything. I have read the entire internet, I think. I've read Alex's books, and all the others. I have a support group with friends from work, some veteran sleevers, some waiting for their surgery like I am. I have bought what is on my list of approved liquids for preop and post op. I'll wait to become nervous on Thursday. Today I am just a bit anxious and excited.

I hope you guys have a safe and speedy recovery.byou have entered the fun zone. You will get your energy back but it will take some time.

You do need to make sure you are getting as much of the Protein and fluids as possible. It would be bad to go in dehydrated already. I worry when you say you only got in 1 Protein shake, Water and Soup.< /p>

Please be safe! Good luck!

This is all normal. Your body is just adjusting. Stay with it though. If you have to take breaks, that's fine.

Pre-op sucks. I comforted myself with the thought that every pound lost was one I'd never see again -- unlike all the gaining back after diets for twenty years. Congratulations on choosing yourselves and your healthy futures! Joy is the word, that's for sure. Love that.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
