Gross topic, but I need to know

Recommended Posts

I am 5 days post op and once I finally had a BM (after pain medconstipation), since then all BM's have been very runny and smell horrific. Is this due to liquid diet and maybe internal surgery clean out? Is this normal? I don't see this addressed anywhere. Sorry for the topic, but I would like to know.

lol yea it's gross. but we all go through it. the key thing is "liquids in liquids out". I started to go a little more normal when I transitioned to puréed foods

but honestly, for the love of god, don't trust your fluffies for the first couple weeks. always be close to a bathroom!

LOL! Yes, it is coming from all the Liquid Protein. You can clear out the bathroom area for a while!

It definately gets better as your diet changes.

liquid diet is a big reason, also you should be on antibiotics after surgery which this is one of its side effects.

when I finished taking my antibiotics, it got much better, not normal but better.

Mine was the same.

It's the liquid diet and the antibiotics etc. my wee smelt funny for a few days too!

The more you move through the diet stages, you'll see more of a 'consistency'.

I'm 5 weeks out and my bowels are still a bit up in the air. They take a while to get into a rhythm I think.

I'm 8 weeks out and still dealing with this daily!! But it's working, so it is a side effect that I am willing to live with!! Adios 30 pounds and counting!!

My doctor told me about Devrom. If you're not familiar with it, it's an internal deodorant that helps eliminate the smell. My surgery is still 12 days away, but I have stocked up!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
