Letting go of my armour
I had a long diet in 2007-2008 and i lost over 80 pounds, i cleaned my closet then and i swore to myself not to gain weight again but i did! I gained 110 pounds. Am now only 20 days post op but i don't want to think about cleaning my closet because am terrified of letting myself down again!

Nexium for the next 3 months...
Hi, My Dr. gave me a prescription for Nexium 40mg twice a day for 3 moths post op, any of you got that?

I Finally Did it (7 Days Post Op) (Questions!)
I did not use Protein powder at all, it's only 10 days till you can have dairy products and your body can handle it. my doctor said I can exercise as much as I can do but do not pull or lift any weights until after 6 weeks. watch out from dehydration, keep sipping Water all the time.

Alex Brecher started following Dimka

Ready to Stop Crushing
I took pills the day i left the hospital. My doctor prescribed Nexium for the first 3 months after surgery.

I know I shouldn't
I had this surgery so I can eat what I want in moderation. If Any of us could deprive ourselves from everything we like and stick to healthy food then we wouldn't need the surgery. And who said skinny healthy people don't indulge in what they like but in ok quantity. Of you deprived yourself you are setting yourself to disappoint.

How about some NSVs!?!?
Excited to be able to extend my neck beyond my boobs when having soup and not to have to carry the ball to my mouth.

8 weeks from since surgery and I think I am flunking this test!
what surgery did you have?

POST OP DRAIN
they put a drain in the left hip/waste area and they took mine off 24 hours after surgery.

Just one week out of Surgery
sounds great, I had a fairly similar experience, and am grateful for that. in my first week I used to get hungry but not able to have more liquid because it just sucked, but I had as much Water as I could. I lost the first thirty pounds very quickly, it's very motivating but I always have to remind myself not to get pissed off because eight is not going to drop as fast in the coming weeks. Good luck with the rest of your journey.

Sleeved on October 8...update
Congrats, really great to hear your story! I am only 17 days post op, although am losing weight now, I keep thinking that this is going to stop soon and I will never make it to my goal weight. it haunts me but for now I really can not do much since I am still weeks away from eating salads and vegetables to stay full on healthy stuff. Shopping has been a punishment for years, I can't wait to be able to fit in again in some of those TJ Maxx bargains

7 month before and during pic
you look fantastic, good for you on the training part

Gross topic, but I need to know
liquid diet is a big reason, also you should be on antibiotics after surgery which this is one of its side effects. when I finished taking my antibiotics, it got much better, not normal but better.

this is dumb but my biggest question is...
I am only 17 days out but I can tell you that I am staying thirsty all day, I am sipping Water the whole time but my mouth is dry and I never feel that I had enough, I am actually sure that am not having enough because of my urine color (sorry for the TMI). my problem is the low intake of water in general and not only with food, I took one sip with food one time (only because I forgot) and it was so painful so am never doing it again for another 2 months until I heal completely.

Stage 2 diet - Am I full?
I will be in your stage after 4 days am currently having some mashed potato and thick Soup, I was hungry only twice in the last 10 days, I stop when I feel that I need to burp! I can eat different quantities depending on what am eating so measuring didn't work for me.

Keeping weight loss surgery a secret
I told my husband and my immediate family, I also told my very close 2 cousins because we have dinner together every week and I can't just sit there and lie and say am not hungry, they know me too well lol! I did not tell my judgmental maternal side of the family and no one at work knows, I hate being watched and it's really none of their business. I had the surgery in Feb so I might change my mind later but I work in a very competitive environment and they already spend enough time talking behind my back, I am not adding this to the mix!
