Still in pain

Recommended Posts

I had my VSG on Monday 2/23 so I am on day 5 post op. I feel like I'm still have quiet a bit of pain. I still need to take my.pain pills and it hurts to take deep breaths at times. I don't feel short of breath but more that my abdomen hurts when taking deep breaths. Is this normal or happening to anyone else?

I remember wanting to take deep breaths and I couldn't. So yes. Remember, you had major surgery. They took out a good portion of your stomach through a hole. Allow your body some healing time. But if it persists and it doesn't get better as the days go by, call your doctor for a faster follow up to discuss.

My surgery was 2/25, the painful deep breath thing is normal, it seems like everything in my abdominal cavity is swollen, and it hurts to take a deep breath, BUT that being said, you still have to take deep breaths. Did they give you an incentive spirometer to measure your breaths in? Need to use it 10 times an hour while awake. I think walking helps with the breathing thing too, mobilizes everything. You can do this.... And you can prevent the complications too...this surgery requires us to be hard workers and to be tough, that 'easy way out' thing is a bunch of bulls***!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
