One month post op!

Recommended Posts

Hello all, I'm new to this group, and only one month post op. I'm curious to know if it is normal to feel hungry all the time! I had my first fill last week, I feel hungry all the time, I haven't felt full since surgery. I feel like I can eat anything I want. Is this typical?? Thanks, Lori

Hi :) I had my surgery on 9 Feb and I'm feeling a little frustrated because I also haven't had any change in my appetite. I'm eating less because I'm making a concerted effort to do so, but am feeling no restriction from the band. I'm learning that my expectations may have been unreasonable. I also understand (and am hopeful) that this will change once I've had my fills. My first is in 3 weeks.

Good luck!

Just remember that it can take a few fills to really feel the satiety. I lost weight post-op to first fill, but only because of the post-op diet. I was definitely hungry between first and 2nd fills (plus Christmas, an out of town vacation and new year's) and gained a couple of pounds. After my third fill, I started to feel satisfied longer, but my portion sizes were not where the needed to be. Just had my 4th fill last week and so far I feel great! I am not near as hungry as I was even a week and a half ago. That feels great!

So just hang in there. Remind yourself there is no miracle fix (believe me - I wish!!!), but that this is totally do-able.

good luck!

Thanks @keeper. I guess I just assumed that if I had the surgery my appetite would be suppressed and I would automatically eat less! ????

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
