Recommended Posts

Scheduled to be sleeve March 25th and was wondering any of you guys with man boobs, how did the weight loss help? Did the man boobs go down or does it sag and now have extra skin? my biggest insecurity right now is my chest!

I've got flapjacks now, but they are gradually going away. Don't worry, when the weight starts coming off, it's such an awesome high, that a little sag here and there won't matter!!!

Mine flattened out and got a little droopy. But they're much better than pre-op. :P

The Moobs (also known as flapjacks....hadn't heard that one until now, but it works!! Lol!) are still here. I'm 5 months out. Im lifting weights 2-3 times a week and have been doing so for 2 months. I can see my upper chest gaining muscle, so I'm working on turning flapjacks into crepes!!!!

I think they are my largest insecurity too. I'm still determined I will be shirtless at the pool sometime in 2015....so they will have to go!

hit the gym. replace the fat that was there with muscle. that has been my goal. I have been pretty successful. I like the way they are looking. you get out what you put in! Various other factors play part too, such as genetics, moob size prior to weight loss, total weight loss. would rather have moobs than be 300+ again!!! compression shirt as a quick fix?

It's getting much better! I agree with other posters - the benefits of the weight loss outweigh the moobs in the beginning. I've been lifting weights (I'm nearly 5 months post op) and see changes in my upper chest. I still have the moobs but they are smaller and I've lost quite a bit that extended under my arms.

Don't worry about it. You will see real transformation!

Once you are recovered from your surgery. Make this part of your routine. Do 10-15 pushups every night right before you go to bed.

Will this help your chest? Or just arm strength?

push ups are good for pectoral muscles(chest). Even if you aren't ready to do full on pushups, lean yourself up against a wall and push off it several times.

This is something I kind of worry about too. Hell in reality I have had these moobs for almost 30 years of my life. The best I can hope for is just making them smaller.

Has anyone heard anything about Gynecomastia (male breast reduction surgery)? I wonder if it would help with the moobs. Of course, if they're still a problem after hitting goal and building up the pecs... I lifted a lot over the years, but was always heavy and had some healthy man boobs over the muscle I built on my chest. I worry I'll end up thin but without a defined chest.

I don't have a lot in the front, but I am a little worried about extra skin on the sides, just below the armpit.

I used to be a complete gym-rat, so I'm hoping after I'm cleared to work out I can tear it up in the gym enough to avoid the loose skin issue.

My insurance company will actually cover the plastics IF the extra skin is causing health issues - rubbing chafing, etc.

If it's cosmetic, they will refer me to a plastic surgeon that reduces his rates due to all the business Kaiser sends him.

Bench Presses!!! Preferably with upper body at a 30-45 degree incline. Supine works also, just not as effective for this.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
