Goal weights? And photos for "shorties?!"

Recommended Posts

I'm 5ft, and have lost over 100lbs so far - my boobs hang, there some loose skin on my butt, but what I hate the most is the skin on my arms and my over hanging belly... in saying this though I have noticed some improvement on my arms in the past 6 months since I started putting more body butter on them and really rubbing it in... I'm 2.5 years out now - so improvements do come with time... no change on my belly though - think that will have to be a tummy tuck.. I think everyone may be different.

I'm 5 ft 27 years old and have been over weight for 9 years. My dr and I have set a goal of 120. I think I would be very happy at that weight. When I was in high school I was at 98 lbs I did competitive cheer and never wanted to eat. So I never want to get that thin again

Edited to add: I'm 61 years old and exercise only lightly.

What do you consider lightly? I am currently working out 3 days a week, & honestly don't feel I can maintain more than that. I am always excited to hear that more mature women can make it to goal without a lot of work out.

@@Kathy812, I only exercise recreationally and occasionally: Bike rides, long walks, etc. I promised myself that I would start yoga this year, but I haven't started yet. I guess I'm waiting for someone to kick my butt and make me do it. :)

I think the more muscle you develop the less saggy skin i will have.

I am planning on starting with a mile a day on the stationary bicycle. Then when my team says i can increase activity...i am only 7 days out, i am going back to the bill phillips 5 day a week work out pkan of 3 days a week weights and 2 days cardio. I find it curious to read these posts about exercise. I had FAT habits and i am not about to go back to the old way of doing things. I am going to do some form of exercise everyday. I do not care if others can reach their goals with no exercise, i do not like how my body looks or feels with no muscle. I am 63 years old and i need the activity to stay limber.

Body butter will not do it for me. I want muscle, plain and simple and not with compression garments. If you develop muscle you will not need all the smoke and mirrors. I have done thus surgery i owe it to myself to not take on my old FAT thinking that got me here. I am Changing and if it hangs when i am done i will get it cut off.

I am 5'3" and 260. I think 125 would be a good weight for me.

I am 4'10" and I bounce between 122 and 125. I started at 200lbs wearing a 16 or 18. I now wear a 6 or an 8(have one pair of size 4) .....although sizes vary so much who the heck knows what size I started with and what size I actually am. My surgeon said I could lose 80 pounds which would get me to 120lbs. I set my own goalnof 75 pounds and 125lbs.

Many people have told me I am too thin or frail looking but I am technically still overweight. Most people have never seen me anything but obese so I seem very thin to them.

I'm 5' and 47 yrs old. My primary doc want me to get to 120 yrs ago when I did a guided diet with him and weight watchers. I actually hit 140 but couldn't maintain it. I bounced up to 165 and maintained it for 8yrs. 165 was right for me even though it was still considered obese on those medical charts.

I have set a goal of 125 because of those goofy guidelines, but.....to be completely honest if I never see it I will be fine with that. If I see 140 and am able to maintain it, I will be thrilled. If I bounce up to 165 and stay there forever you will not be able to smack the smile off of my face!

I have been over weight my entire life. At 47 I refuse to box myself into a number this time. I am healthier at 184 than some of my friends that are at their ideal weight. I just want to feel good and be healthy.

Thanks! I was at my heaviest (obviously) in the left picture at a size 20W. That was about a month before I started my pre-op. The middle picture was my 6 month photo at a size 12 and the picture on the right was a size 8 at my one year mark.

My body loves the 152-157 range and I barely have to think about it to maintain. I could probably lose 10 - 15 more but I am happy. :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
