When does my pregnant belly go away after surgery???

Recommended Posts

I am 39 years old.

I am male.

And I think I am pregnant.

Because I have this ENORMOUS, BLOATED BELLY! ;-)

I had my surgery five days ago and I cannot believe how fast the recovery has been. I am off pain meds, getting all my Water and Protein down, walking a lot, getting out of the house, etc. But I am curious about this swollen belly!

How long do you think it will take to go down? Is there anything I can do to expedite the process?

Many thanks, all!

I'm 5 days post op and I'm enormous too! My belly looks like I'm 20 months pregnant. My NP said it's normal and it can take from a week to a month for it to go down, just depends. Sorry, not much help!

Thursday will be 4 weeks post op for me. My swelling has FINALLY started to go away. It is frustrating to see the numbers on the scale going down, and your clothes that fit before surgery are to small.

I think it took about three to four weeks to finally start seeing the belly going down. Seems like one day it is just gone and your stomach is smaller than it was before surgery...just keep that in mind...it is a great feeling to see a smaller tummy!!Deanna

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
