I don't doubt for one minute that you're not making this stuff up, gadget. Why would we doubt your sincerity or sources? Because they're so outrageous? No, we've come to expect it here on this thread. It comes with the territory of the abortion discussion. We're used to it. No one has to be reasonable or sane here. Craziness seems to come with the territory. We just have to be passionate. And no one can deny our passion in this discussion, can they?

I gather from your sarcasm that you DO doubt my sources. Go look it up for yourself. They're very well documented. Or just bury your head in the sand if you'd prefer. Know this. I will never, ever agree with you about taking away women's rights. It doesn't matter how many horrific scenarious or obtuse parallels you dig up.

There will ALWAYS be women who need the abortion option, whether you believe that option is moral or reasonable or not. All the picketing, grisly photos, name-calling, finger-pointing and declarations of when life begins will never change the fact that women will make their choice, one way or other, legal or illegal, for themselves. I just hope we don't go back to shooting doctors outside their clinics again. Because this time, I believe some people are going to shoot back.

Making abortion illegal would not eliminate it (just as making other forms of murder illegal doesn't eliminate them), but it would certainly take a big chunk out. The whole "if it's illegal people will still do it anyway" argument has never flown with me. It's illogical. People always break the law; we don't therefore abandon laws. That's called anarchy.

Why, pray tell? I believe science should determine when human life begins, and allowing people to decide willy-nilly based on their own personal conscience leads to things like infanticide, euthanasia, and slavery.

What is life? How do you define life? Of course it is science. And why do you get to be in control?

Why do you get to decide who gets help and who suffers and dies? Because one life is supported by another life, but it has no vocal ability makes it acceptable for you to speak for them? You can say what they want and deserve in spite of the potential death of another person? I don't think so.

You're not the person who knows how to make medical decisions in life or death situations in each and every case for everyone else. You don't get to decide who should or should not be euthanized or aborted. You get to decide for yourself. Period.

The point is you are deciding for another person. Ever heard of Gianna Jenssen? Google her. Her mother "chose" to have a saline abortion in 1977. Gianna survived it. No surprise, she's a huge pro-life activist. At the time of the abortion, no one asked her how she felt about her mother's (or, I guess you'd call it her "owner's) "choice". That "choice" almost killed her. It is more often successful -- 1/2 of the people going into an abortion clinic don't come out alive.

Both slavery and abortion should make people uncomfortable. They are both based on the same precept: that one person owns another and can do with them what they wish.

No, that's not what I said at all. I said the numbers would be cut down dramatically, not squelched entirely. Illegal activities will never stop, whether they be murder, thievery, or any form of human oppression.

And no, I don't believe everyone should have a voluminous number of children. I believe people should decide if they want to control their family sizes before they have already added to that family through the creation of a new human being.
