Being informed is a great start but remember everyone's experience is very different. ;-)

I am feeling well thanks for asking. I had my ryn Feb 2014, and the first six months are the most challenging. Once you get into a steady routine it becomes second nature. Which surgery did you have?

Wow, that is awesome for you. i also had ryn on June 5th & Yes, I hearing by 6 months you feel "normal". Like most of us I have been trying to get NY weight down I have losing & regaining the same 20 lbs for the past 10 years all to have more added to it as well. After diagnosis Hugh blood pressure, type 2diabetes, sleep apnea AND high cholesterol, all in the same year, I knew I could no longer do thus alone. Here I am and I am so grateful. I love this site. People like you are so open & willing to help. I have found lots of helpful information and people to lend n ear. I am very happy to be on this team!

So I have hit the 3 month mark and my hair is falling out right on schedule.....ugh!!! Anyone have any advice on how to slow it down....losing what seems to be handfuls at a time. To add to the stress my wedding is in 35 days!!

Protein....other than that I don't know if anything will really help or slow it down. I was losing what I felt was handfuls but it wasn't as obvious to others. I took Biotin right after surgery and didn't see any big results, i even went as far as buying nexxium shampoos. It didn't hurt my hair and I'm sure in the long run it helped. I wish i had a majic answer for you. Congrats on your wedding.

I'm new but I'm here...and also in Pittsburgh! Like you, several of the comorbidities, with MS added on for good measure. :/ I'm 4 months in on my supervised weight loss. Next month is my psych eval & hopefully we're going to start looking at surgery dates for December?

If you are still around, where are you at in your journey?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
