Discouraged and regreting

Recommended Posts

I take a Isagenix Flush pill nightly to combat Constipation. It is mostly magnesium. Have not had any problems since. Like clock work every morning!

I'm a little a month and I'm actually getting depressed, discouraged and flat out regretting getting the surgery. I have lost 16lb since my surgery and that happened in the first 2 weeks, I went for my 2 week check up and I was 321.5. I got on the scale this week and I had GAINED 1.7lbs!! Now I haven't done things to the "T" but it's no where near to me gaining weight(mainly not able to get all my Protein I get close). I log my food and I know I get less than 500 calories a day. So what the heck??!! I have been bloated and constipated and that makes me angry. I just don't know. I know this is a tool but I feel like it's not working for me right now. I started working out but had to hold off till my open wound was healed. So now I can't eat much at all, can't do Protein shakes cause it makes my nauseated so I'm eating meat cheese and eggs and can't take a crap!! I'm so annoyed pissed off depressed and I really want to eat something really bad but can't cause I wont go down so yeah I got problems right now!!

DON'T REGRET sweetie this is the 3 Week Stall!!!!! And YES it truly sux on so many levels I'm just a month in and same as you the weight that i lost came off in the 1st 2weeks and THAT WAS IT! !!!! My surgery was December 11th and this is the first week that i lost again and only like a pound. If you are following the guidelines you'll start losing again, try not to get depressed and throw it all away. Keep positive the best you can, I've been told there are THREE possible Stalls ... now, again in ur 3rd month and once more at your 6month mark.

So stay positive girl we can do this so many people have succeeded let's be part of the success together!!!!

Went to my 6wk appointment I only lost 3lbs ???? I have to go back next month please pray that lose more weight! So this kinda bummed me out..now it did. I don't know what the heck is going on

Stick to your plan! And I can not stress the importance of getting all your fluids in. Trust me I know it's hard but after I didn't have a bowel movement for two weeks I went to my doctor and he told me that the fluids were the key. He was right! The next day I basically drowned myself in Water and then that night I had the best BM of my life. Lol also I was a slow loser at first, so since I was losing slowly I stopped weighing myself. I knew that if I stuck to the program and worked out the weight would come off. Now I'm 3 months out and am losing pretty rapidly. I don't expect it to stay this way but it has given me double the confidence. Also don't compare yourself to anyone else. I love this saying "Don't be so busy worried about someone else's chicken and fries that you miss the steak and lobster god has give you". Good Luck!

Some people are just slow but steady losers. Are you keeping a food diary? Are you watching your carbs? I realize that breads and potatoes are allowed but I personally think those of use with higher BMI's need to avoid them. How many calories are you eating a day? Has the Constipation issue been resolved? What's your sodium level like? Too much processed food = high sodium = Water retention.

Step away from the scale. Take your measurements instead. Neck/boobs/waist/hips. Check that once a month instead of weight.

I have went over my carbs a couple if times but no more that 5g. I keep up with my food on my fitness pal. I have had some potatoes about 3 times during that time. But only like maybe a ounce. The Constipation issue seems to be ok right now. .I have been taking stuff to make me go. They want me to do Miralax so I started that today. I'm working out more so hopefully by my next appointment I will have lost a good amount

Didn't your doctor have ideas and suggestions? At 6 weeks you should be able to eat fairly normally -- for a post-op bariatric patient, that is. Go back to your handbook and make sure you are doing all the right things every day. 60-80 grams of Protein? Carbs only from non-starchy vegetables? 64+ ounces of fluids? Walking/exercising regularly? If you're doing all these things every day and still can't lose weight, I'd engage your doctor or nutritionist for help. Good luck!

@@Rogofulm I was stalled and bloated for most of the month so I don't know if that was a contributing factor but I'm going to the gym more and doing longer work outs. I'm getting all or more of my Protein in now and still trying to get all my Water in I get about 20 oz shy of were I need to be and watching my carbs like a hawk.

Try to relax. For one, Eating a bunch of cheese, and not getting in good fluids...you're probably "full of it." Seriously! A good dump and those 2 pounds will easily be gone.

Stalls happen. I find that cottage cheese (with sugar free sliced peaches) helped me have good BMs. Also Perdiem, oR just some Milk of Magnesia!

Happy pooping!

It must be a good week my friends because it appears that my "3 Week Stall" had also been defeated and i too have lost some pounds this week. I can't tell you how hard it truly was stocking to everything and not seeing any results but it's happened just as everyone promised. Thank you ALL for the sport and guidance you give ~♡♡~

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
