I am 2 weeks post op, the diet brochure tells me, Decaf coffee is OK and skim milk is Ok, so I am sipping first cup of decaf with skimmed milk.

When were you allowed coffee?

Day after surgery once I had my leak check I could have Decaf if desired as it fell into the "clear liquid group". However it may take a bit to drink the cup you can sip sip sip away all day long :)

@@Justoperated

all/many surgeons will give you different responses to when you are allowed to drink coffee

your surgeon might say one thing and "Jane Smiths'" doc might say something else

ie my doc had me wait 2 weeks

always/only listen to YOUR doc/NUT regarding any question you might have

since you didn't say otherwise, hopefully you aren't experiencing any major problems with recovery :)

if waiting to have coffee is your biggest problem.........

woo hoo

thats great :)

good luck ;)

Yup, I gave it up for awhile, then started Decaf, and now I'm back up to about 20 oz. daily.

P.s. I use the coffee as a tool to help getting in my liquids. I add unflavored Protein mix or use a Protein Drink to make it a moca. The warm liquid goes down easier and doesn't give me issues so it helps when I've spiked it. Bit with protein :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
