A New Day

  • Popular Post

I woke up this morning and realized: This will be the last holiday season I will allow myself to be single and invisible. By this time next year I will have blossomed into my true beautiful and healthy self instead of hiding behind all of this weight and shame. I am so excited for the adventure ahead. I pray it goes well. I know it will be a tough path, but that the rewards will be so worth it.

Do you remember the day you knew your life was going to change for the better?

At my 2 week f/u when I saw I had lost 26lbs. Everything had been easy up to that point. I had no issues with recovery . I was prepared for a slow but steady weight loss so seeing that number at 2 weeks was encouraging.

@@blissfulbeing thank you for you're response. Yes let's stay in touch as we endure on our journey at the same time. Thanks so much to everyone for their posts and encouragement. I am now pumped up about the procedure and still wanting to move forward. Can't wait to share my experience with everyone. Let's all hope for a happy healthy and smaller new year (:

Yay, Avhick! Just keep focusing on that ????happy, healthy, and smaller new year????! Woo hoo!

Today was day one of the all liquid diet. I feel sick and have been running to the rest room to empty out the fluids. I also feel very cold can't seem to warm myself up. Starting to think if this is worth it. Trying so hard not to eat solid food.

Hi, I'm 9 days post-op and doing great. I lost 19lbs on the pre-op diet and I am 26 lbs down total now! So excited for this new year and all the "new" to come.

Avhick maybe you have a stomach bug or something, that doesn't sound normal. I've been on all liquids for 3 weeks now and never felt all that. Are you diabetic? What does your liquid diet consist of?

Just keep in mind the all liquid phase is very short. I have noticed that some people get the chills during that phase. I wonder if it is the body trying to adjust to all the changes. If you can hang in there hopefully things will get better.

Thanks for the posts. I'm hoping the chills are just my body going through an adjustment. So far today I'm ok. Liquid diet consist of water with the flavoring clear chicken broth sugar free Popsicles and sugar free jello. Today is day two and I hope to be able to maintain it surgery is scheduled for tomorrow at 10:15

Hang in there you got this, but if it's having such negitive effects may you could call the on call and see if you can add an egg or something. Mine allowed for one egg one cheese stick a day and if it was having bad effects on my body they would allow for two of each in a day. It's day 5 post op and I no longer need pain meds slept like a dream, not so much gas feeling really good, and on my way to a new healthy me. So hang tight you won't reregret it ????
