    A New Day

I woke up this morning and realized: This will be the last holiday season I will allow myself to be single and invisible. By this time next year I will have blossomed into my true beautiful and healthy self instead of hiding behind all of this weight and shame. I am so excited for the adventure ahead. I pray it goes well. I know it will be a tough path, but that the rewards will be so worth it. Do you remember the day you knew your life was going to change for the better?

    A New Day

Wow! You look great @@Avhick! You must feel fantastic! I'm doing great! Man, those first six to seven weeks were tough! I feel like I'm cruising now! Eating regular food - just much less of it. Still no pasta or rice. I might try those once I'm closer to my goal. I've lost 32 pounds so far. I feel a million times better! I'm bringing sexy back! Haha! 28 more pounds until my goal weight. It will take time and hard work - and I'm going to make it happen!
  3. Yes! And I loved it! Though, ultimately, I will decide when I've lost enough - I thought it was a lovely compliment. ????

    Back to work blues...

Ditto to what @@JamieLogical said. Much more energy at six weeks with full foods.
  5. @@Elode - I bought the Yonana last night based on your recommendation in the gadgets thread! You should be getting a commission! Haha! I LOVE ice cream, so I'm hoping that this will give me a little bit of a "fix" if I ever get a craving. (I'm only seven weeks out, so I don't have many cravings.) Thanks for the great tip - I can't wait to try it!
  6. I took two and a half weeks. I was glad to get back to work, but my mistake was going back full-time at full speed ahead right when I got back. The first month was exhausting for me. I'd recommend at least three weeks. But everyone is different..
  7. Broiled cod with a tablespoon of mashed potatoes. It was amazing. Once I started eating solid foods, I felt normal again. It's a great feeling.

    WHY STILL NAUSEOUS

Thank you for starting this thread. I'm getting nauseous fairly regularly now. It's a bummer. Sometimes I feel nauseous because of what I ate and sometimes I feel nauseous because I haven't eaten. Trying to look for patterns, but not really finding them. I have my six week post-op appointment so I will talk to my doctor.
  9. What I do to keep my head in the game (and away from freaking out) is remembering that this is a marathon, not a sprint. My weight loss "stalled" for about ten days.. No worries! I was still twenty pounds lighter than I was. I just decided to not worry. And eventually the weight loss resumed. My "no freaking out" policy is really helping me. ????
  10. My biggest fear is failing. I'm only three weeks out and I am doing really, really well.. But what about a year or two or three from now.. Will I, for once in my life, be able to maintain my weight loss? That is my biggest fear..

    A New Day

Yes, Minnie! I didn't expect to be this hungry either! And it's not head hunger because it's coming from my stomach! ???? I had a scrambled egg this morning and it was divine! The one egg filled me up! So cool! It feels amazing to have a new set of foods added to the menu. I feel so much more satiated and so much less deprived. Who knew that an egg would ever be this exciting?! I feel like I'm more of a normal person again now. Only two more days for you, Minnie!

Mariah - your weight loss really shows! I'm so glad to hear that you are counting inches, too! It can really help during the stalls. You look fantastic!

    A New Day

Avhick.. You are rockin it!! I remember how nervous you were - and look at you now! I'm so excited for you! I'm down 19 pounds and am heading back to work on Monday. I just went through my closet to work on what I might wear for next week. My current clothes - especially pants - are already too big to keep wearing. Luckily I have several pairs of pants that I "outgrew" over the past few years that I can now fit back into. That should cover me for a while. It's crazy how quickly our bodies change... On Sunday I get to start my puréed stage! Before surgery I didn't understand why people were so excited about that.. But I sure understand now! Three more "sleeps" and then I get some more real-ish food! Hope everyone is well! Keep us posted! ????

    Yay! Congrats!

    Living below goal!

    Amazeballs! Congratulations!
  17. Yes! I was going to suggest that you include a sous vide circulator on this list! I bought mine pre-op so I could practice and it makes the most juicy and delicious chicken and fabulous scrambled eggs! I'm really looking forward to being able to eat those again soon - mostly because I have a tool that I know can help them taste great.

Had Dr Leport and with Dr Mir Ali

Dr. Iqbal did my surgery on 2/10. I met with Dr. Ali at a pre-op appointment because Dr. Iqbal was still in surgery. He seemed like a confident surgeon. I met Dr. Laporte in the hospital after my surgery - he is really nice. Can you get a later date with Dr. Laporte or is he just not taking patients anymore?

    Nights in hospital

Two nights at the hospital. I was still in a lot of pain by the second day and wasn't ready to drink anything until the third day.

Thank you for sharing that menu! It makes me feel more confident about going out to eat one day. ????
  22. Oh my gosh! I'm so with you! Same surgery date, too! Scrambled eggs never sounded so good! I'm also fantasizing about chicken! Never thought that would happen! ????

    A New Day

Hi BLEDgirl! I'm on full liquids. Surprisingly, I'm getting more of a full feeling the further I am along. I think what I'm missing is being satiated. Does that eventually start to happen?
