how long is the Gastric Sleeve surgery ?

Recommended Posts

My doctor said about 1-1.5 hours... maybe your doctor is including prep and recovery room time.

About an hour...I don't really remember anything from that night though. I just remember them telling me the surgery should only take about an hour - 90 minutes and then waking up hours later with them trying to get me to drink.

Arrived at the hospital at 11 am... taken to the pre-op prep room at 11:30am... wheeled off to surgery 3pm... recovery some time around 7, in my room at 9pm. I had a Lap Band removal, Sleeve, and Hiatal Hernia repair.... total procedure time was about 4 hours from what I can recall.

Around 2.5 hours - had lots of scaring from the old lapband...but it was removed a while ago!

According to my surgeon, my gastric sleeve took about one hour with a liver biopsy as well.

Only 90 minutes, just as foretold in all the hospital paperwork.

Mine was a little over an hour. Hubby went to get my pain meds filled and was getting the call before he got back.

It's so different for everyone. I had a sleeve with no other repair or procedure and was on the table, not including prep or recovery, for 40 minutes.

Had an outpatient band to sleeve revision (one step) and it took a little over an hour.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
