Mine was liquids the day before.

Mine was also just liquids the day before surgery. So glad it wasn't 2 weeks!!

I didn't have a liquid diet at all. Just low carb, like Atkins phase one, only veggies were okay.

My suregon said if you have a good suregon, it's not necessary to do weeks worth of liquid dieting before the surgery to shrink your liver. The skill is what is necessary.

Mine was 2 weeks liquid :-) you can do it!!!

  • 2 weeks later...

I had 2 day pre-op liquid of clear fluids.

My doctor originally said Clear liquids the day before but my blood work came back yesterday saying my liver enzymes were slightly elevated, they sent me to get an abdominal ultrasound and wouldn't you know it!! I have a fatty liver. Not a big surprise but I think he is going to make me follow a special diet before my surgery on the 27th.

My surgeon said two weeks with limited protein,starch/carb and all the vegis I can eat, with two protein shakes then clear liquids only day before

Mine is 2 days liquid as well too..

I have a choice of the 2 week optifast or 3 day pre-op liquid, but most people choose the liquid, as I am.
