Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

Hello there Band fans....I got banded March 28th-2007.

I told myself....Bycyling would be a very good choice. Fresh air, muscles working for the sake of "Cardio". After one week passed--in April. I purchased three new bikes for me and my two sons. I have defeated many things doing that. No more not riding with my children--we ride as a crew (family). We could not conquer the hill on my street. We used to stop 3 to 4 times before getting to the top ( I did). So now the wheels have turned. My kids ask me---"Daddy can we stop--our legs are burning". Thank God I am doing well now. Now with 21 pounds gone---but just riding bikes. I am ready for the next Journey...The 1st fill--I am looking forward to the next 4 to 6 weeks--maybe 12 or 20 pounds gone...who knows...:faint: this is how I feel on many days after my ride. Today--(8.5 miles) It was walking, riding around the fair in my town--but that is what my speedometer said when it was all over...

They are very yummy. I have tried the orange, strawberry, and black cherry. All of them were very yummy. I also like regular Clif bars too. A little harder to eat but delicious all the same.

  • orange is my fav. I've had punch too, not so good.

  • Okay, so you two concur on the orange, strawberry and black cherry. Cherry is my favorite flavor, so I will get more of that. Thanks, chicas! (I gave y'all "reputation" for this info! I still can't be

Holy effing exhaustion. J and I did amazing. We completed our goals of not coming in last, not getting hurt, finishing before someone in a heat before us, and just plain finishing. But wow seriously the hardest thing I have ever done. The course was wild. Some of the steepest uphill and downhills I have evr seen. Add a bunch of mud and wow was it messy. I will try to add the photos I have to my myspace tonight, but I am pretty pooped.

tigerlili....welcome to the insanity......we have all started where you are at and believe me.....it does get easier.....

I want to be on the bike all the time, and recently have been injuring myself because I am pushing too hard. So take it nice and slow...and enjoy it when you can

YOu are more than welcome to join us, the more the merrier....

BG....

Pretty amazing...glad you are all safe and sound and that you had a nice time

Thanks for the welcome Hoosier!

Well I got 1 lap in around the neighborhood..its a little over 2 miles, that was all we had time for since there was a big storm moving in. It has been about 2 years since I rode my bike, I missed it but I will tell you that my bum didn't miss it. I think I need to get a wide seat....I have a gel cushion on there but that doesn't make it anymore comfy for me.

I will ride again tomorrow and try to get another lap around the neighborhood in...my legs were burning half way through the ride tonight!

Well, off to bed I go, 0430 comes early for me...blah Monday...blah

Welcome tiger!!!!

HP, did you have a great weekend or what????? I love your new avatar!!!!! A ticket??? To see me????????????????????????????? That is way way way cool. You HAVE to bring your bike though!!!!

I don't know about fall...school starts again on the 25th, I go all day and have a night class two nights a week.. Spanish in healthcare. I speak no Spanish now...it ought to be interesting thats for sure!!!

Glad BG and J are safe and not in the hospital. I can't wait to see pictures....can you put a link???

hey D!!!!

I did have a good weekend....Went out for a 50 miler but ended up with only 40....heat was awful........cramps, chills...yea....so, I went as long as possible before saying...JOHN COME AND GET ME....

I loved the ride though...such a pretty ride.....allot of cruel hills.....if that is what people are calling them...they looked like monsters....but I only walked one and that is when I got sick...so I am good with that.

MY husband and daughter took the shorter 21 mile ride, and was able to come and rescue me...

We stayed after for a small local festival with the friends we ride with. We had a nice time...and than skipped out on my Strassenfest ride....BOOHOOOOOO.....but we had to be back in town at 630am....and we were about 40 min away....and I was POOOPED and enjoying the nice cool breeze in my tent...aahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

So....we didnt get in as many miles as intended for the weekend, but we had good family time.....

I start fall classes the 25th too....I am only taking 3 classes but still working full time...I am hoping they dont get in the way too much. If I remember D...this is when you dissapeared last year when you got so busy.....

tiger lillil

can we shorten your name to TG?????

Bigger seats dont always make for better riding comfort....I thought the same as you....but after I got used to my seat Specialized Body Geometry, I am loving it...well...ok...not 100% but who does love there seat when they set on it in the heat and it sure isnt my recliner...but!!! Loving it anyway

I rode 10 miles saturday with my neighbor. It was his first ride and was more like a leisurely cruise for me. Sunday I rode the same loop by myself and raced the clock. 48 minutes to do 10 miles an average of 12.5 mph. That is slower than the average Ihad on the 17 miles last week but this loop has many more hills and much rougher roads. I still have a long way to go to get to where I want to be. I also want to say that it is good to see so many of you ladies going back to school. I went back when I was 23 or 24 and had I child and a wife to hold down the fort and that helped a lot. The return to school paid off termendously for me and I'm sure you guys will see the same positive outcome.

BB, I believe there are three of us going to school, one getting her Masters!!!!

I have been a housewife and so am just starting my second career. I have had jobs off and on, here and there, but nothing that paid anything that I would want to do it the rest of my life. I am looking forward to be in the working field and NOT HAVING TO STUDY ANYMORE!!

Yes, HP, this was the time I disappeared last year and then went on a plateau too. As I look back at my weight loss, I dropped 30 pounds from August 07 until May 08....not so good. But at least it was not a gain. I dropped the majority of my wieght in the first four months of banding. Hopefully, I will not let that happen again this year.

HP, sorry you didn't get the Strassenfest ride in....I know you were looking forward to it. The heat is a killer especially when you are climbing hills!!! You did great!!!!

I didn't get any riding in, well, around the res. on my mountain bike, but I don't really call what I was doing riding!!!

I cant wait to see some Muddy Buddy pictures!!!!!

hello D...

I know I really wanted to do it, but I ride in that area all the time, I will just have to make a point to do some of the routes....on my own...

You know I was looking back, and I had stayed the same weight from the end of April of this year until just recently...it is finally moving again..and what shocked me this morning is HOW FREAKIN CLOSE I AM TO MY GOAL???? WHAT THE HECK??????

I am taking business classes working towards an assoicates degree. I want to take the technical classes that would get my electronics degree, but I have to get through all the basic math stuff before I will change my major....

I just want to get this for me....I may never change my actual job, but I still will have it.

woman power!!!!!!!

Glad you had a good time...

I wish it would cool down just a little......

You know I said I wanted to get to 220 before my florida trip...I THINK I WILL GET THERE...1 MORE WEEK!!!!!

You are soooooooooooooo close to goal!!!!!

You are doing so awesome!!!!! I hate not losing.

I hate losing and then gaining the same pounds over and over and over again even more.
