Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

Hello there Band fans....I got banded March 28th-2007.

I told myself....Bycyling would be a very good choice. Fresh air, muscles working for the sake of "Cardio". After one week passed--in April. I purchased three new bikes for me and my two sons. I have defeated many things doing that. No more not riding with my children--we ride as a crew (family). We could not conquer the hill on my street. We used to stop 3 to 4 times before getting to the top ( I did). So now the wheels have turned. My kids ask me---"Daddy can we stop--our legs are burning". Thank God I am doing well now. Now with 21 pounds gone---but just riding bikes. I am ready for the next Journey...The 1st fill--I am looking forward to the next 4 to 6 weeks--maybe 12 or 20 pounds gone...who knows...:faint: this is how I feel on many days after my ride. Today--(8.5 miles) It was walking, riding around the fair in my town--but that is what my speedometer said when it was all over...

They are very yummy. I have tried the orange, strawberry, and black cherry. All of them were very yummy. I also like regular Clif bars too. A little harder to eat but delicious all the same.

  • orange is my fav. I've had punch too, not so good.

  • Okay, so you two concur on the orange, strawberry and black cherry. Cherry is my favorite flavor, so I will get more of that. Thanks, chicas! (I gave y'all "reputation" for this info! I still can't be

Hey, trying to catch up on a least some of the last few hundred pages. Watching it rain AGAIN. Only been able to get one day of walking in this week. I guess it is better than nothing. I'm on my third new set of fat clothes this month. It will be a relief when I get a handle on this thing. I hope everyone is well. Have to get back to work.

JC

JC, I know you will get a handle on this!!! You can and WILL do this!!! When the fill is at the right spot, it will come....you know this...hang in til then!!!! We miss you a lot!!

Yo Jody!!!!

It's so good to see you here. Like D says, you'll get it under control very soon.

How's the GF?

JC.....i MISS YOU!!!!

Well I've not felt like doing much riding. I have gone to the gym some. Guess I am going to have to put the bike up for a few weeks. I am going to be having gall bladder surgery next week on Friday. Will be nice to have it over with, but not looking forward to another surgery so soon, was banded on June 5th. But I do look forward to this ache in my side being gone!

LBT-

That's no fun, but what more can you do but take care of what needs to be taken care of.

Fooey...

here's to a speedy recovery!

J

Awe, Long, bless your heart!!! I am sorry the second surgery in such a short time, but it will be nice to not have the pain. Does the doc think that the gall bladder is because of the weight loss???

We are going camping today!! Hopefully it will not be too hot.

HP, have fun camping, as well.

J and BG, have a blast doing MB, and please be careful!!

Have a great weekend everybody....talk to you soon!!

Yep he does. He thinks it might have been in not so good shape before, but just not enough to cause symptoms and then the loss has aggravated it. With my wanting to continue losing especially he recommended removal as it would aggravate it more. And the ultrasound showed stones and not to risk a stone getting stuck in a bile duct or something.

I was in the lapband chat room here recently and someone in there mentioned they heard 40% of banders have gall bladder issues. Not sure if there is any truth to that or not, I've not seen that statistic in an 'official publication' or anything. I asked my dr. how much a gall bladder weighed and he just laughed at me.

i heard anytime we loose a big amount of weight that happens....so it proably is correct in saying that

D,....yes...you have fun as well......suppose to be in the low to mid 90's....yes, that sounds like a blast!!! Riding saturday 50 miles and than again on sunday......hoping it will be a good time....

BG and J!!!! We will be thinking of you guys on Sunday...have a blast....

I head out on the bus Mega Bus that is, not Grey Hound, in 30 minutes.

I'm really psyched. My trainer called yesterday and left me the best message about how I've got what it takes to do this...mind over matter and all that encouraging stuff.

Stacy and I are going to have a blast to be sure. Can't wait to share with you what we discover about ourselves.

Oh, just to let you know, I got in 23 mile ride this morning and now am officially under 25 miles to go until I hit my season goal....yippeeeeee me....It really really was fun having a goal to attain that had nothing to do with losing weight!!

so D...what goal do you have in mind for the fall????

and BTW....WWOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

WAY TO GO FOR GETTING TO YOUR GOAL....

YOU ARE MY HERO!!! YOU ARE AWESOME...

AND I AM SAVING TO BUY A TICKET TO COME SEE YOU!!!!!

Hi everyone!

I am sort of new with having my band, I am a couple of months out now and really need to pick up my working out. I use to ride a few years ago, I never accomplished nearly as much ground as you all cover in one ride though.

I decided I would take riding up again, I am going to start out slow until my bum can get use to the seat again. Just go around the neighborhood for a few days.

I have been wanting to start this for the last 2 weeks but there has always been something holding me up...mostly rain, morning, afternoon and night... gotta love a Florida summer! So, I am starting today! You all seem to be a great support for each other! I hope you don't mind if join your group, I could really use the support!
