Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

Hello there Band fans....I got banded March 28th-2007.

I told myself....Bycyling would be a very good choice. Fresh air, muscles working for the sake of "Cardio". After one week passed--in April. I purchased three new bikes for me and my two sons. I have defeated many things doing that. No more not riding with my children--we ride as a crew (family). We could not conquer the hill on my street. We used to stop 3 to 4 times before getting to the top ( I did). So now the wheels have turned. My kids ask me---"Daddy can we stop--our legs are burning". Thank God I am doing well now. Now with 21 pounds gone---but just riding bikes. I am ready for the next Journey...The 1st fill--I am looking forward to the next 4 to 6 weeks--maybe 12 or 20 pounds gone...who knows...:faint: this is how I feel on many days after my ride. Today--(8.5 miles) It was walking, riding around the fair in my town--but that is what my speedometer said when it was all over...

They are very yummy. I have tried the orange, strawberry, and black cherry. All of them were very yummy. I also like regular Clif bars too. A little harder to eat but delicious all the same.

  • orange is my fav. I've had punch too, not so good.

  • Okay, so you two concur on the orange, strawberry and black cherry. Cherry is my favorite flavor, so I will get more of that. Thanks, chicas! (I gave y'all "reputation" for this info! I still can't be

Sorry bout the rain out!

I did a Full Duathlon today and about died lol!

The 5k run the first 1/2 mile was all uphill..then i finished the 5k in 31mins (ok for the amount of hills for me)

Then i cycled 30K (18miles) and it was SOOO hilly. I have never done that many hills. Of course i bought a new saddle and tried her out today which wasnt the smartest thing to do. I know i would of been sooo much easyier on a Road bike instead fo my mountain bike.

I got up to 36mph coming down one of the Hills:eek:

Then another 5k..boy my legs had trouble going up that hill again after coming off the bike.

I made it though. 2hr 39mins. The winner was 1hr 40min:eek: but he is a pro Triathlete (and my coach too )

Hard to believe i could keep my heart rate up for over 2.5hrs.

After the race i started feeling a lil dizzy and seeing some spots in my eyes . So i got some Water Melon and Banana and i was ok.

Let me see if i can post a pic of the hill that kicked my butt and my new saddle.

Who's.....CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is sooooo awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A road bike would definitely help you a lot. Maybe your LBS sells used ones??? I know mine has a consignment shop, thats how I sold mine, it two days.

Update on my saddle.....I think I like it. It is a Specialized Alias...WSD.....It is white, and very thin. I saw some carbon fiber saddles today that were so awesome looking. They looked like a thin piece of plastic....amazing.

Whos

Great Job! You've got to be so proud of yourself.

Woo Hoo!!!!

You are rocking it. So is there an Ironman in your future???

Hi Bigb.

Honestly i dont think i have the time to train for an Iron Man. Maybe a half Iron Man. For an Iron man you have to train 2hrs a day and sometimes 4-6 hours at the weekends.

Great job Whos, you inspire the heck out of me!

I think you need to get your pirorities straight.

Just kidding....

You are amazing.

Hey thanks for all the feedback! A little sore today but i am planning on either a bike ride or a 5k run today. My YMCA is closed on Sundays in the summer or i would be all over that hot tub like a monkey on a cupcake.

Hi Juli. I've got a lot of catching up do, but I have the rest of my life to do it.
