Sleeve? ... Done!

Recommended Posts

It's midnight and I am pleased to say that it's been a great day. Surgery was at 11am this morning and I am 3 hours into a good nights sleep, having woken for a pee and an obs check. I'm in an altogether better than expected place. All pain is well under control and so far I have had no gas or nausea issues. I have been up out of bed and walked a little. My 30ml (water) per hour restriction has just been lifted so I'm now on free fluids and I'm even promised half a cup of tea for breakfast! ...I'm happy....

Andy810,

Congratulations on your successful surgery!

Glad to hear you are doing well.

I'm hoping and praying my husband will be able to have the surgery soon. I would very much like him to have the same positive life altering experience I have had.

Wishing you a quick recovery from the surgery.

Kathleen

Congrats! Good to hear a success story, we all need those!! I'm 9 days pre-op & on liquids. Not fun but not forever so I'm just pushing thru. November 3rd can't get here soon enough for me!!!

Wyomom: please don't give up on your pre-op diet. It wasn't much fun but I was pleased when my consultant told me that he could tell I had been diligent as my liver was "nicely reduced". That rewarded my hard work.

Congratulations you will not regret having your sleeve although in the early days it can be a bit of a rollercoaster ride for the emotions.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
