  5. Yep, pre-op dirt, one week today & it was a tough one today. Had food cravings & felt very low. Just have to get thru these next few weeks & know this deprivation is not forever. I found warm broth with unflavored protein powder helps me feel fuller & Mio in water with protein powder gets the water down & protein up. You just need to find what's going to work for you. And keep telling yourself, it's not forever!!!

  10. I'm 6 days in to the liquids only/protein shakes & am dropping weight like crazy, averaging 1-2 pounds a day right now. Down 20.5 as of this morning from my highest weight back in September. The first couple were tough, headaches & low energy & just felt blah. Had a couple of episodes of hypoglycemia so my Nut is allowing me a 3oz. package of water pack tuna, plain. It's tastes pretty darn good after those sweet protein drinks! Also have found that homemade broth tastes pretty good too. I am adding Mio to my water bottles & it's really helping me get the water down. It's kind of tart & really makes the water go down easier. I also add a little unflavored whey protein to up my protein intake. Surgery November 3rd, I'm ready!!!!
  11. Nope, no way in giving up! I've worked to hard to get here to give up now. One week to go for me!!????

  13. Congrats! Good to hear a success story, we all need those!! I'm 9 days pre-op & on liquids. Not fun but not forever so I'm just pushing thru. November 3rd can't get here soon enough for me!!!

  17. Wow, thanks for posting these, amazing!! I'm just beginning, on pre-op liquids & due for surgery November 3rd. Seeing how successful you've been gives me more hope, I need to lose 200pounds & you make me think I can do it!!!
  18. I agree about the sweetness being too much but I am using Mio in some of my water & it's better than plain & not as sweet. I really like the black cherry, it's a little tart & is really good. Maybe that will help you????
  19. Is anyone else that is on the pre surgery liquids only diet having bad headache & a wired feeling/fluttery heart feeling? Is it just detoxing or?!?! It's not bad but kind of odd....

  27. I just got the call today, Sleeve surgery on Nov 3rd!!!! So excited/scared/nervous but thankful that the time has come!! Start protein drinks/liquids only next week & I'm ok with it, just another hoop to jump thru to get on the road to a healthier, happier life. When I get down/frustrated I visualize all the positive things to come~ being more active, less tired, able to take walks & ride bike with the hubby, fit comfortably in theatre/airplane seats, being able to shop for clothes in a 'regular' store....so many things that a lifetime of morbid obesity have stolen from me. I'm 58 & have been fighting this fight for 40+ years & I know I'll still have to fight but I feel like I'll finally have a tool in my bag that will help me with the battle.
  28. Mine has a $400.00 fee that covers pre & post op nutrition & RN advice & counseling.
  29. Just got the call I've been waiting for, VGS November 3rd!! It's been a 7 month process of jumping thru a lot of hoops but it's all going to be so worth it. Cannot wait to get started on my new, healthier life. Start liquids only next Monday, any sleevers out there with suggestions about favorite, tasty protein drinks?
