2 week pre op diet starts today

Is anyone else starting their 2 week pre op diet today? I am had a protein shake for breakfast and have bars for my snacks. Dinner is chicken and broccoli. What are you eating? Has anyone found any high protein soups that you like and want to share with me? I get tired of the sweet. Anything other tips are appreciated as well?

Hi, I also started my pre op yesterday. Only drinking the shakes for now, will go buy some soups and pudding later on today. One thing I am not sure if allowed or not is coffee/tea so I am still having one cup a day until maybe 3 days pre op. I need my caffeine. I am also including frozen strawberries and bananas to my protein shake in the morning since I figure I am burning those calories at work.

That is a great idea! I am going to do that for my morning shakes as well.

I was told to eliminate the caffeine from my diet. Because it can cause dehydration. So I am drinking decaf now. If you want to give me your email I'll email you what my nutritionist had to say about it.

I am so thankful for my evening meal. Today I am having a lean beef patty and today I need it. I am struggling and ate some peanuts, they are on the list of foods I can have but I am not sure how many I can have. I had about 1/4 of a snack package. All the sweet bars and shakes are too much sweet for me.

Day 3 done! Tomorrow we are going to dinner so I've planned out what I am eating, I know the restaurant the place and they accommodate my no butter request...should I take my food scale with me?

I'm geeked! I'm pre-op diet starts today!!!

I'm a teacher and we have to take our kids to breakfast every morning about an hour after I have had mine. I had a nice thick protein shake this morning but I am starving as I watch these babies eat.

I'm day 7 and doing well yesterday was really hard. I have a protein shake with 22 proteins and it helps curves my appetite thank goodness!!!

I am so jealous! I'm starting my Pre-Op diet in 10 days and it consists of:

-4-6 Boost Diabetic

-Water

-Flavored Water as long as it's no calorie.

That's it for FOUR weeks! I'm beginning to think my surgeon is trying to torture me lol

I am actually going to email my team and ask of I can have homemade chicken stock without salt to cut all the sweet through out the day. Or maybe even juicing vegetables too, as long as I stay under the 1200 calorie a day target.

We will see! Good luck guys! You can do it!!

Sheena :-)
