I told my employer today that I was having surgery and she told me I had to get the FMLA paperwork completed by me and my doctor. Has anyone ever had any issues with taking FMLA for having surgery in Mexico?

I'm very interested to hear how it goes, as I need to do the same. Please let us know what you find out.

I faxed my FLMA papers down and they were faxed back the same day. No problems.

I emailed my FMLA paperwork to my surgeon's office (Obesity Control Center) and they filled them out, scanned them in, and emailed them back to me, which I forwarded on to my HR department. Didn't have any issues at all.

I took my FMLA paperwork to my PCP here at home and he filled them out for me even though I had my surgery in Mexico.

Unfortunately i don't think my PCP would do that for me.

Did you contact your surgeon's office about filling it out for you? I had no issues with my surgeon completing mine.

My surgeon completed the form with no problem. I was just responding to bulldog 1973 that took her form to her PCP instead of her surgeon.

I guess I am lucky with my PCP. He has been very supportive of my decision to have this surgery since the beginning. To be honest, it never even crossed my mind to send it to Dr. Garcia's office because I knew my PCP would handle all of it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
