October 6th, 7th and 8th Sleevers Please Acknowledge Yourselves!

Hey everyone, I know we have an October thread but I wanted to create one specifically for those of us being sleeved on next Monday and Tuesday. I think it would be awesome for us to support each other and actually follow each other post-op.

I'm being sleeved on Tuesday, October 7th! Wow still can't believe I have 6 days remaining. I'm not nervous at all just excited and ready to start my journey. My husband thinks something is wrong with me because I'm not nervous lol.

Like many of you I've been battling my weight since childhood. I'm 35 years old with a BMI of 44 and 5 months ago I said no more diet pills and no more starving myself for only a 10 lbs lost. I've never been below 200 lbs. in my adult hood.

Guys I told my mom yesterday and now I'm regretting it. Her response was the following "why don't you just diet" :(. I couldn't believe it, I absolutely could not believe it. Anyway I had to brush that off very quickly and continue my conversation with my mom without exposing my true feelings. I'm not discouraged just wishing I wouldn't had sad anything.

I'm moving forward, all my thoughts are centered around Tuesday morning. I wish all of you the best and please keep each other lifted up pre and post op.

Hey everyone, had my operation yesterday. Surgeon said all went well. Pain was a lot worse than expected but I still wouldn't go back. Should be home tomorrow. Good luck everyone.

Oh this gas hurts. Any tips anyone? I'm in so much pain. I'm so nauseous. Idk what to do out side of walking

Hi all, had my op at 3pm yesterday. All went well, quite a lot of pain, but once they got it under control felt much better. Got push button pain relief to self administer so that was great. I felt a real heavyness across my chest which they said is normal and has eased off overnight and this morning. Also allowed to have ice, but just take tiny bits at a time otherwise the heavyness across the chest is intensified, but not too bad, just a warning to take it slow and small. Hope everyone is feeling well and good luck today for those getting it done today. Remember no pain no gain!!!

Hey everyone, I was sleeved at 9:30 this morning everthing went very well. I remember going into the operating room but only I was only awake for a few minutes. I had to have a hitial hernia repair as well.

When I woke up from surgery the gas pain in my chest was at a level of 5 or 6. I was given pain medication, when i got to my room from recovery I was ready to walk :). I put my pajamas on and I walked and I'm no longer experiencing gas pains and that's so awesome. I've been increasing my walking time a little at a time. I'm up to 5 laps on my hospital floor.

As far as resting, I've been resting pretty well. Nurses are constantly in but their awesome! I have my chest x-ray and leak test in the morning. After that I'll start my clear liquid diet. Guys I'm so glad I don't feel hungry.

I know there are a lot of people getting sleeved on Wednesday, October 8th. I wish you all the best and a speedy recovery!

Tuesday night I came thru with flying colors. I have been sitting up in a chair all day long. Drank over 64 oz of water. Walked every hour. Feeling good. Good luck to all. Will try to at h up tomorrow. Can't focus very well.

Hi! Had mu surgery yesterday morning and all is well! Pain is manageable, but like others have said, the gas pains/nausea is the harder part. All in all, it's not as bad as I anticipated. I'll be starting liquids as soon as the sleeve test results coming through.?

had mine on the 6th along with gall bladder.feeling better then I thought.morhine made me nausaus but they tried all the meds for it and nurse gave me a suppository and that is what helped!came home yesterday after I was able to hold down chicken brith for breakfast 2 teaspoons, and had to small forks of tuna for lunch.after 2 weeks of liquids before surgery im on purees already.not trying anything else until I can get water and proptien drinks down!

Hey yall I am back home sleeved on Tuesday. I was supposed to go home yesterday but late yesterday afternoon my chest pain and stomach pain was pretty bad. My blood pressure was fluctuating a lot also my O2 was low at night so I slept with oxygen. Dr decided I should stay another night ... He removed my drain and almost instantly all pain was gone except for incision sights. But I am happy to say I am now in my own bed still a little sore and nautious but meds are helping. Waiting for my awesome mom to bring over homemade chicken noodle soup (just broth of course) but I can't wait ????. My only complaint is the cramping when I drink or sip soup hoping that fades as time goes on. Also I was happy when I saw I lost 13lbs on my 2 week diet can't wait to get my weight done at 2 week check up ! Hope everyone else is doing good. Please post experiences and I will also try to stay up to date with my posting !
