Hi all, this is my first post - I just had my pre-op appointment and my surgery was changed from January 26th to February 9 - the emotional roller coaster is definitely no fun but everything happens for a reason.

I do have a question, did anyone where individual lashes during surgery or will I need to have them removed? Thanks in advance ????

I couldn't have any makeup or polish for surgery. But I don't know if they would have included the lashes in the makeup or not since I don't wear them. Sorry I couldn't be more help!

I hope they grease my lips and make sure my hair is together. Y'all know how we are lol.. I still want to be cute, when you look good, you feel good:)

that's exactly why I got my hair braided before surgery. One less thing to worry about. Plus I'm natural and I didn't want to be struggling trying to comb it with my incisions still sore.

I didn't think about my hair, I'm natural as well. I will have to make a goddess braid around my head the night before. It will be scary if that braid come apart lol.

They are attached with surgical glue, they can't come off and they won't interfere with any equipment they use. You just can't have any metal on your body, your nails need to be bare, no makeup. If your lashes are done the right way no one will even be bale to tell you have them on. I miss mine, might have to get them back soon.

When I had my surgery I had a partial sew-in, no issues. I'm natural also and so is the texture of my weave. I kept it in a pineapple bun on the top of my head the whole time.

Thank you so much for your help, I really didn't feel like having them removed but wanted to be sure ????

Hey everyone! Good luck to all soon to be sleevers!

Is anyone tagging Gummy Vitamins? I know they aren't recommended, but after months of battling the chewable vitamins...I just can't do it anymore. I can't stomach the smell our the taste and I spotted taking my Vitamins altogether because it was so bad.

I am now trying to get back on track but with gummies. I chew really well and they are so much easier on me. I am going to start taking an Iron supplement for support too...

My nut of course is against this but my surgeon is of the mindset that gummies are better than nothing. At 13.00 for 300 gummies I can also afford them.

Any encouragement and/or advice is appreciated...thanks ladies!

Sorry for all of the horrible typos...I hope my post is understood. If not I will be happy to clarify. For some reason my edit button isn't working on my tablet.

Have you ever considered Vitamin therapy (via IV)? I'm researching it now myself but might be something you want to consider if you can't stomach the chewables.

Also-- Congratulations to everyone who got dates and is going home! Yay! ????

Hello I am new.. 1/21 Consultation 2/18 will be my 1st appointment with NUT. I have to complete a 6 month medically supervised weightloss program with the Bariatric Center. This includes testing 3 NUT appointments, Monthly weigh ins, Psych Evaluation, PCP approval Letter. I'm Nervous as ever. I'm 5'1 so they say and My Highest Weight 249 when I actually wasn't afraid to step on the scale. At Consultation 243. They also have me doing a 3 month Physical Therapy routine as well. I'm Nervous about everything and I need this surgery. I need to be healthy for my kids. I want to climb stairs like most people and not be winded. I want to be able to stand without my feet falling asleep. I want to squat down with my baby and actually be able to play. I want to Live a long Healthy Life. I understand this Journey is a life long commitment and I am Ready. I went for Consultation 5 years ago but I didn't like the way they treated me and I felt it was a sign to continue trying to lose on my own. Well here we are my weight has gone up and down, lose a little gain a lot.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
