6 Months Post Op and I have gained 2 lbs.! Why would this happen so soon?

Recommended Posts

I had bypass April 1st. I steadily lost weight ever since and have been so happy. I am eating and doing same activities and all of a sudden I see the scale going the other way? I am down 68 lbs so far but need to lose another 45. Could I have stretched my pouch already? I have been feeling a little hungrier lately. Anyone out there have some advice to talk me off the ledge?

Sodium, muscle weight, Water retention, time of month. It's probably like any kind of stall.

Just like Amy mentioned, I wouldn't worry about 2 pounds.

In addition to those items she already mentioned, if you haven't had a BM in a while, that could add up, any slips lately in your nutrition plan, not enough Fluid, not enough Protein, etc... Heck, I even noticed a slight gain after getting a new tattoo while my body is healing.

Stick with your program, keep getting all of your fluids, all of your Protein, all of your exercise and you'll start losing again.

If you are really impatient and stubborn like I have been, any time I hit a stall I changed up my exercise routine to shake things up a bit and confuse my body and that usually worked well to jump start the losing process again.

What's food intake like at 7-8 months? What do you eat in a day? I have a good sense of the first couple months post-op but as you heal and all, I was wondering if if it's still the 1/2 cup food per meal. I have seen so many posts on stretching pouches, I don't know what to expect.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
