6 Months Post Op and I have gained 2 lbs.! Why would this happen so soon?
I had bypass April 1st. I steadily lost weight ever since and have been so happy. I am eating and doing same activities and all of a sudden I see the scale going the other way? I am down 68 lbs so far but need to lose another 45. Could I have stretched my pouch already? I have been feeling a little hungrier lately. Anyone out there have some advice to talk me off the ledge?

Hungry or full? What am I feeling?
latido, I felt the same way too! In fact, I have still not reached 64 oz.! I told my doctor this last Friday and he said that's ok, just keep trying. He also told me that it is harder to drink very cold or hot liquids. I am trying room temperature water (hate it) but it does seem to go down easier. You will get the hang of this soon, just give it time. You are also still full of air from the surgery. It takes a few weeks to get it all out. Hang in there.

New Whey Liquid Protein 42g
Can someone tell me why protein is soooo important? My Nut said to stop drinking my calories after 4 weeks and now I try to get protein from my food but that is hard to do when you are not that hungry...Should I look into protein supplements?

what foods YOU cannot eat anymore?
Terry1118...this is first time I have heard someone name what I always feel...Foamies! What is that for you? For me its a feeling that I compare to the mixing of chemicals in a test tube that begins to froth and spill...why does this happen and what does that for you?

My final bill was $19,000...that was with staying in the hospital 2 nights...my copay was $500...so it looks like your estimate is about right.

April 2014 RNY/Bypass Post Op Support
Hi, I had my gastric bypass surgery on April 1, 2014 and had the same difficulties the first 3 weeks...sick, pain, tired, no appetite. Now I feel much better. I walk every day and stick to 3 meals. I measure food, take my vitamins (chewable but nasty) and am happy with my progress even though I thought I would have lost more weight by now. My biggest complaints: Trying to get enough fluids in, still feeling hungry, miss my straws!

April 2014 RNY/Bypass Post Op Support
My surgery was April Fool's day and I thought I was a fool after I got home. I was exhausted and could barely move. I couldn't get all my fluids in right away and felt sick at the thought of broth or oatmeal. But today I am walking and feel much more energized. It started to get better as I began to eat other things like yogurt and cottage cheese...more protein...but I know exactly how you feel...I still can't tell when I'm full until I feel pain. Pain never equaled being full to me before so it takes some getting use to...It's definitely a different way to live...you will start to feel better...I swear!

April 2014 RNY/Bypass Post Op Support
I feel better! I too have my coffee first, some water and then try to eat. I'm not that hungry in morning...very hungry at night. I'm thinking I'm not spacing my meals enough and by evening I'm starving.

Weight loss worries
I have the same fears! I keep thinking I've already stretched my pouch because I feel hunger and I thought we weren't going to feel that anymore. I just ate and am still hungry. I should have stayed on soft foods. Could I have stretched already?

April 2014 RNY/Bypass Post Op Support
Hi I had surgery April 1st. No complications and have lost 30 lbs. so far but all of a sudden I am starving. I'm still hungry even after eating correct sized portions. Has anyone experienced this? The one thing I was so looking forward to was not being so hungry. This is too soon!
