Well I gave up on the group page. I could not figure it out. You could not access if from the phone app. It just wasn't working out for me or the other 27 people who were members. So I am starting this thread. I know there is already an April 2014 post op thread but it's a variety of people. While I totally support everyone having any kind of WLS, our experiences are not the same. Bariatric Pal has 3 sections for that very reason. I'm a perfect example. I am one day post-op. I had a band to bypass revision in Mexico. I hurt like hell, but getting better. I cannot wait to lose all My extra weight. I want to lose 140 pounds.

It was definitely hard to use. But i appreciate your efforts

I am miserable. I am 2 weeks post op and can only tolerate gaterade. Even when u take vitamins I experience dumping. Is anyone else having these issues

Hello. I am 2 days post op. My weight on surgery day was 288. Hopping to get down to 150. I am new to all this but I love the idea of having friends to turn to that are going through the exact same thing as I am. And also the thought of being there for you all as well. I think it's great that we can form these circles of friendship. So to tell you a little about myself I'm 34 and live in Tennessee. My starting weight was 309. I have had chronic back pain (quiet severe at times) for 8 years. It has really stole my happiness but not anymore. I'm taking my life back as of now!! I hope all of you the best and I look forward to getting to know some friends!!

My bypass was on the 2nd of April, I'm 22 days out, and life is still a bit strange.

As for pain from surgery, that lasted for about 3 days. Day 4 and I just felt like I had fallen and gotten bruised or something. After that, pretty much all the surgical pain was gone...

What I didn't expect was that 5 days after surgery, the dietary changes kicked off a massive Gout flare up... Several days of excrutiating pain, and infuriating ping-pong "call the other doctor" later, I'm told that nothing can be done about the flare up, but they put me on a regimen of Allopurinol (crushed, yuck) to try to lower the uric acidity level in my system, hoping it will help to alleviate the flare up naturally.

16 days later, I'm still in pain, having trouble walking, and weak from having to lower my Protein intake (since that's what caused the Gout flare up)....

Otherwise, doing fine, but it's still weird that I haven't yet really been hungry. I've wanted real food, and yesterday technically started the "mushy diet" but honestly, even though I've eaten (because that's what I'm "supposed to do"), I am just not hungry.

Hell, I'd forget to eat or drink all day long if the fear of dehydration wasn't etched in my brain by the doctors and all the stuff I've read...

The other thing I've experienced as noted in the other thread is my first plateau, or at least "ledge". First 18 days, I lost almost 18 pounds. Last three days, no weight loss. Today? I actually put on almost a pound, but i'm betting that's more to do with going to the "mushy diet" than anything. Had a little tuna salad for lunch, and a little Curried tilapia for dinner, which probably explains it.

I'm four days post op and things are moving along just fine. I don't have any major pain I'm up and moving around my home all day effortlessly and u basically feel good. The problem in experiencing however, it I can't seem to drunk all of the fluids required by my dr and nutritionist. Sipping is very boring and time consuming if you have other things in your life that need to be done. I came home with the drain that nothing has come out of since I've been home so I get it removed today. I'm gonna ask my dr to bump me up to full liquids is I can start getting my Protein in that way and drink slowly instead if sipping. I pray all April gastric bypass surgeries went as well as can be expected and that everyone is recovering nicely with minimal complications. My prayers are with all who are scheduled this month and beyond God bless!!

I guess I'm 9 days post op. (4/15) I worked 3 short days this week. (I teach college) Probably not the greatest move but I survived. Today I got to add some "food" to the mix. My first "meal" was a teaspoon of unsweetened applesauce. Whoot Whoot!

I have had a low grade fever and I'm now on 2 antibiotics. I have a really bad hematoma around one if the incisions on my left side. The mass is the size of a goose egg. My bruising in general has been mind blowing near 3 of my 6 incisions. Plus the 4 places I got blood thinner shots in my bell, my IV location, and my hand where they drew blood. I look awful but luckily I don't feel bad.

Yes it's true that none of or journeys will be the same because we all hae such uniquely different body chemistries. I'm just getting back from having my drain tube removed and I've lost 13 lbs since I was weighed on Monday prior to surgery. I thank God that I have no pain at all I only feel soreness on the sites where the scopes were insertered. I'm not hungry, and I have very minimal energy. As soon as I got home I just about fell into my massage chair and sat there for two hours before I got enough energy to move again. I nasked my dr. about this and he said it's because I'm not getting enough protein in but he also said not to worry about it too much now just focus on staying hydrated and when I begin phase two of my diet I can add more protein in that way an my energy levels should increase rapidly. I pray for total relief from your gout and a road to recovery and healing that becomes smoother as the days go by, Goc bless.

You Go Girl, just imagine, in a few more weeks the bruising will be completely gone and that fabulous body will come out of hiding revealing a sexier, healthier you!!!

Low wen fry really picked a bad day to appear! It's my daughters prom and we are out and about getting hair and nails done. I can barely stand. For the first time since I'm seriously bummed out.

Hi All, I also had surgery 10 days ago. I just signed up a few minutes ago I hope I did it right. Thank you all for being so direct. I do better if things are not color coated . Now I am in that time where I am not glad I did this. I guess time will improve things.

I am 4 days post op and had to give up on the stage one liquids, they were going right through me

I have a little pain but not much, I feel better every day. I made chili before surg and had a tablespoon of that for lunch, also Popsickles sugar free are great.

I had 1 soft scrambled egg with green salsa for breakfast.also grape juice unsweetened with a 50/50 mix with water. I have had no nausea, thank God!

I went on line and got a book on gastric bypass and it has helped tremendously

I live in Ocean Springs, Mississippi with my retired husband, 6 cats and 1 neurotic dog.

I started out at 333 and got down to 318 before surgery, my goal is a long way off at 130!

I was at one time a size 7, but those days are gone !.

I am one day post op in Tijuana Mexico my back has been killing me and my drain line is dore aside from that I feel pretty goof
