Hey question have you been able to go to the rest room or Is It hard for you???

I was doing fine in this dept, but all the sudden I'm having issues. There are lots of different suggestions in other threads, and based on those I'll be picking up some prune juice and milk of magnesium, stat.

Hi Everyone,

Just had gastric by-pass this past Tuesday the sixteenth. In on Tuesday out next afternoon. Noticed comments re Vitamins, Gas X, Tums, etc. I take four chewable vitamins which contain most everything you need. No extra Calcium needed. They're called Bariatric Choice and I buy them on-line. There are several different favors. For my Protein Shakes I buy whey Protein at Wal- mart for about $18.00 a container. Mix with eight ounces thirty calorie almond milk, ice cubes and for flavoring you can add sugar-free pudding or Jello. Pretty good tasting, since this is my meal for the next week. I am an older woman, almost 71, so my children are grown. I do have three 75 pound Boxers to protect my stomach from, though.

Let me know how you're all doing.

Hugs

I just had my first experience with soft foods.... I made a scrambled egg. I am so happy to report that not only do I still like eggs.... I can also tolerate scrambled eggs!!!! Yay

Just one egg was extremely filling, I wouldn't have room for anything else if I wanted it.

Yes they did for sure.... I love Soups but it's nice to get some new stuff in the mix. I can also have cottage cheese, refried Beans and soft cheese wedges like skinny cow. I am very happy about this stage. It also says that after experimenting with those for a few days.... I can try some soft veggies.

Yes... I love cottage cheese of course I prefer it with pineapple or in a lasagna. LOL

A lot of people do puréed tuna but I don't eat tuna. I can't see myself eating mashed up chicken lookin like someone else already chewed it for me.

I saw on here where someone does puréed meats with BBQ Sauce and cheese and other sauces but that doesn't sound too great to me either. Besides... I don't want to cover my meats in cheese to be able to consume them.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
