Hey everyone !! If you find any great links to recipes, please let me know !! I have stuff to do (imagine that lol), and I haven't had time to really research like I want to.

Amy had the best saying ever..... WE GOT THIS

Leslie - My October 14th Sleeve Buddy ! I will absolutely add you to the list. Welcome !!! I personally think that the sleeve is so much better than the band. We will all make sure we make it successful for us ! Where in CT are you from ?…….. OMG I just read your post about your chiroasshole ! Sorry to be rude, but geez, what an idiot. I am SOOOOO PROUD OF YOU for standing up and tell him. Damn it, you are doing this for you. Screw everyone else and their opinions !!! This is YOUR life. Do not cry…. I’ll give you my phone# and you can call me . BIG BIG GIANT HUG !!!!

Curleycurvyfit - Welcome ! Can’t wait for you to get that surgery date. Keep us posted on the endoscopy and the psych :) Nervous ?

Delta Dawn - no problem on the list. If you come by something I should add, let me know. Awesome job staying organized with your notebook ! ….. ps… I love the “You must have a great chiropractor because you have a fine backbone”

Amy - thanks for telling us about the sponge. I keep hearing that’s the worse part. You doing okay?

Susan - eeeeeek… our time is near !! How you doing? Nervous, excited?

VSG - You are saving your life, and you’re doing this for you ! It’s normal to feel nervous, but as Amy said it.. “You got this” ! Love the seats at Verizon Center. Mine is either Horseback Riding, Zip Line, or Sky Diving.

Jessi (is it okay I call you that) - Awww, I love your first goal ! It’s funny you mention not caring about eating the food. I”ve been thinking about TG too., and your’e right ! It’s not important ! Imagine that ! We are starting to switch our minds and focusing on us and our bodies ! WTG ! I hoe you have the best TG Ever ! btw.. I’m a desert rat. Grew up in Phoenix :)

Meonthelist - Congrats on your sleeve ! Glad you checked in. Glad things are starting to get better !

So the tiredness is as bad as they say it is? What are able to accomplish? Or is it just hanging around the house watching TV and the computer? Also, in my book there’s a recipe for double milk, which is a cup of skim milk and a packet of powder milk, (double protein), cook some broccoli or carrots, blend them with them with the milk, and make a nice cream soup. Strain any pieces out of it. Also Ms Dashes for different flavors :) Maybe that will help. I’ll look for more recipes ! Thanks again for the update !!! HUGS!

Swedy - Welcome. I’ll add you to the list !

Lisa - Thanks for sharing your information and being there !!!!

Linda - Congrats on your surgery date !!!!!! I’m the same !! I don’t have to do a pre op diet either. I kind of feel guilty I don’t. Do you feel that way ?

Brian - Check the list. I saw a couple !

llmccay1 - Congrats on your surgery date and welcome !! Love your enthusiasm

My date October 23rd. The closer it gets the more nervous I get. All I have left to do now is the Pre-admission testing with anesthesia consult, a pre-op class, and get all my LOA and disability paperwork taken care of at work. I think the most challenging part for me postop will be the 2 week puree diet and actually logging my intake. I suck at food logs lol.

My date is Oct 23rd too! Today was my first day of my pre op diet. It went well so far! How are you doing on yours? Good luck! I hope everything goes smoothly!

I would say day of and day after are the worst. Day 2 post op you start to feel normal and restless. Today is day 3 and even though we're only a couple hours in to the day, I can already tell a difference from yesterday.

Think positive and a hospital support person is definitely a key!

My husband has been supportive from the start....When I told him about my decision to have the procedure he was speechless... He thought I was joking. After all these years..he didn't think I was "that fat". It brought tears to my eyes because after four kids and almost 13 years together, he said he wad still attracted to me and loved me for who I was on the inside and outside...????

Cool! We'll have to keep in touch on our journey. Good luck to you too! I've been praying for all of us every day :)

I had my Pre-admission testing Thursday and my NP said I could start my preop diet today and do 2 weeks instead of 1. However... I told her I'm going out Friday for dinner and drinks for one of my girlfriend's bday so I'll start on Saturday instead. She laughed and said that's fine. I ordered some Protein shake mixes from unjury so I'm still waiting for that to arrive, but my preop diet is actually a low carb diet so I have no excuse really lol.

I'll start on Saturday and catch up with you. My preop diet goal is 2 shakes and a healthy lite lunch with 2 Snacks (like milk or yogurt or fruit). We'll see how it goes!

Just got surgery date for October 23rd now I am freeking out its starting to become to real now I am never going to be able to sleep again 5 weeks after have to leave to Texas for the winter then fly to Montana the first week of December for granddaughters wedding I hope I will be up to all of this

Yay! Another Oct 23rd surgery! Lol, I was beginning to think there weren't going to be too many of us lol. While I don't know you personally, I think one week later you'll be able to get back to a somewhat normal pace. My doctor has me off work for 4-6 weeks and I work in a hospital (up and running around all day working with patients). Just maks sure you get your protein in everyday for energy and stay hydrated. Good luck!

My date is October 17th. I did most of my preop testing. I have a sleep study next Wed. I think the hardest part for me will be the two-week liquid diet. Fortunately, my doctor allows me to have small dinner (protein &veggies) but liquids during the day. I will have to think of the end result to et me through. Giving up my coffee will be a doozie!

Hi Kathy812, I have a 17 October date, as well. I'm on a restricted diet; however, it's mostly Protein and vegetables. I'm heading to the hospital today to do pre-admission paperwork. I'm excited about the journey and would love to share experiences as we embark on this new journey.

Cross-posted.

I haven't seen a link or discussion of setting up a private Facebook group yet. Is anyone interested in joining one? I'll create it. Just message me and I'll add you!

I am October 14th too. I am a mix of high anxiety and extreme excitement.

Didn't sleep much last night after getting my October 23 date it's kind of hard I don't have a lot of support just from the group's here my husband thinks that just because I lost weight before hand that I could just keep doing it he doesn't want to hear anything about the surgery my daughter said at your age I am 67 why would you do it so it is a struggle for me to stay positive with all the negative

I am starting to get emotional now feeling pretty much alone on this journey But the good news is already my A1C from my diabetes has dropped from 10.5 to 7.1 that is way I am doing this surgery to get healthly has anyone else started to get emotional as it gets closer food is my best friend
