Rekindle my fire

Recommended Posts

So I haven't had a fill since January and I had to fight with the pa at that time. I had my surgery in October 2013 and as of January had lost 68 pounds. I had some major issues with this pa telling me before surgery I wouldn't be successful. I stuck with her and every visit had to fit for a fill. I have never been near the green zone. In the last few months I have had horrible issues with (hemmorphoids). That's a whisper word. This affected my diet and exercise. I still walk at times very painful but doing the best I can. I have a fitbit and average 16k-20k steps a day. But I haven't lost a pound.

With my insurance now I get billed for fills. I finally scheduled a visit this month with a new pa because I complained.

So I'm asking for help. How do I get my fire going again.

Motivation needs to come from within yourself. You have to want it more than you want food. But having a properly adjusted band is step #1 so you're heading in the right direction. Hunger and food deprivation is what killed all our diet efforts before surgery. Having your band adjusted to the green zone should make all the difference in the world.

A properly adjusted band can give you that satiety to avoid snacking or eating the wrong foods.

You're doing the right things already. Keep it up!

New PA, yippee! That changes everything. Establish a good relationship with this one. Let him/her know you are committed to making this successful, that you understand about the red/yellow/green zones and that you want to work to get to green. And pat yourself on the back for how well you've done. 68 pounds down is amazing. Go ahead and say it in the mirror: "I am amazing!" Really. And congrats on the exercise. That is definitely where it's at. Plus getting that appetite dimmed. You are on the right path. Let go of your past negative experience with the previous PA. That's all over. You stood up for yourself and you're getting what you want and need. Just like when you got the band -- you're choosing yourself and your healthy future. Way to go! And you know what? Onderland is in your sites.....it's all happening.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
