Hi ya'll! Greetings from sunny Virginia. October is just two months away and I'm so excited! My surgery is scheduled for October 6th, and I'm just freaking out with excitement, terror, and hope.

Can't wait to hear from other October RNY-ers.

I think I'm looking at the end of October but I don't have a date yet. Still doing all the Insurance processing. Should get approval by the third week of September and then schedule my surgery after that. Glad you got your day of surgery. Good luck

Super bariatric babe I'm not in Northern Virginia. I live in Southern Maryland in LaPlata . So it's a good hour plus away for me to go to the hospital and the doctor's appointments

I'm actually pretty thrilled for an October recovery time. Going for walks when it's cool outside and the leaves are changing to their fall colors sounds like a pretty perfect day. Infinitely preferable to a sweaty hot & humid summer recovery. :) Plus it's just in time to keep us away from all those tempting Halloween & Thanksgiving goodies.

Hoping for late October! Finishing insurance requirements at the end of September! Getting excited/nervous! Agree with recovery in cooler weather. Very motivating to get out and walk.

I'm hoping for late October surgery as well. I have to say it never occurred to me about the cooler weather for recovery and walking, but Oh Yeah!!! I hate the heat and how great will it be starting this journey in the fall! Thanks for mentioning that!!!! ????

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
