I have Empire BCBS

Have you tried to submit? I had the opinion it couldn't hurt to try and if they denied I would at least know. So glad it went in my favor

I had a lower body lift, and a inner groin thigh lift and a Brazilian butt lift almost 3 months ago. I did this all on the sly since I decided to have the surgery after taking a month long cruise, so I only could take a couple of weeks PTO time that I had. So after two weeks I was back to work, sitting mostly, it wasn't bad for me at all as I had no complications and I felt great, not too bad for being 60 years old...Everyone is different I guess...

Oh wow. I am worried about the skin issue but this surgery (RNY) was really rough on me and I don't know if I could handle another surgery!

I believe so much has to do with your surgeon. RNY was tough on me too. Then last year I went to a different PS and had my arms done, and breast done with a lower face/neck lift. I had such horrible pain I couldn't believe it. But I knew I wanted and needed the lower body lift, so this year when I went looking for a new surgeon to do that, I found my new surgeon, he told me his patients usually do not experience any pain, I was like yea right, I know better, then after this major surgery he was right I felt no pain. When I asked him how that could be he told me it's all in how a surgeon handles the tissue and also the fact that he doesn't allow his patients to bleed, all that leads to a very mild recovery. So this is why I say it depends on your surgeon, it seemed to work for me...I was very pleased with my mild and uneventful recovery!

I am 2 weeks out from my lower body lift. I still have two of the four drains in and hope the last two come out this week. I am doing pretty well. The surgery was tough, pain is no joke but so worth it!! My body looks so different. My surgeon did a beautiful job. He took off 6.8 lbs and gave me a cute tushy transferring some of the fat there so my butt wouldn't be so flat. I don't ever remember being this tiny. I have been 116 all week so I think that will be my new baseline. I can't wait to go shopping for pants and skirts. Before the surgery I was a 8 petite on the bottom. Guessing by how I look I'd say I am a 2 petite on bottom now just like top. Now when people say how tiny I am I believe them. :)

That is SOOOO exciting! I am so happy for you. You will feel so much better once all the drains are gone...post some photos when you are up to it.

I just called and we are giving the drains another day at least. :( the output is just a little less than 30 ml and my Dr doesn't like pulling them when they are still giving this much off.

Everyone is different I had a lower body lift this past spring, I spent a week out of state recovering then flew home and was back to work with in that week...I took it slow but I felt great...I was in pretty good shape before surgery so I am sure that helped with recovery, not too bad for a 60 year old woman...

I went to Dr. Victor Gutierrez. I saw some of his lower body lifts and knew he was the guy for me. Not only is he a board certified Plastic Surgeon, but he also has a specialty in Micro-Surgery so his cut lines and sewing are simply flawless. After seeing some really bad looking outcomes I was pretty scared to have such a cut but now you really can't even see my scar. I wrote a review of my surgery on realself.com I use the same name over there...

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
