starting to get nervous

Recommended Posts

I have a little over a month until my surgery. I have starting buying things so I won't feel unorganized after surgery. I am starting to worry I won't lose as much weight as I want. Am I the only person that ha worried about that?

I think everyone worries about that. Just remember to follow the rules and trust the process. Of course, we're all built differently, and our bodies each have their own "ideal" weights. Maybe mine will be 170, even though I'm hoping for something more like 130 or 140. Who knows? No matter what though, wherever any of us ends up settling, we'll be better off than we were before we made this change. Chin up.

I would love to be 140 but the doctor said expect to be about 180. The psychologist said shoot for the doctor's goal first and anything past that is a nice bonus.

It's probably best not to set a strict weight loss goal. This journey is about getting healthy. As long as you stick to your diet and exercise, you will definitely lose weight. You will be far better off than you were before. So focus on that and not so much on the number on the scale.< /p>

Everyone worries about the what ifs. It is natural and will never end because in the back of our minds we will always doubt ourselves and what we can and will accomplish. Although we must be forever constant in our fight you can get to where ever you want to go.

But for now. Look at your doctors goal for you and be happy that he has that milestone in front of you and go for it. you can go farther after that.....First things first...get to that goal and work to change your thinking and learn to eat to live not live to eat. Find a better and healthier way to deal with the emotional way you saw food and you will get to your goal. ( personal )

My surgeon set mine at 200 lbs. I thought I would never ever see that goal. I did and surpassed it..I have to deal every day with maintaining it now....That is my new goal....

Take one step at a time and move slowly and logically, learning new and healthier habits as you go and like many before you, you will get there! okay :)

I am so glad I came across this thread! My doctor never set a goal for me, maybe he doesn't like the mindset. anyway I am almost 6 months out with an 80 lb loss. my problem is my loss has now come to a screeching halt. I am down to 180 lbs and have been there for a month. I am still tracking food intake eating 49 to 60 Protein a day. I also walk 2-3 miles at least 4 times a week...but nada! I don't think it is a stall , but after reading these threads it sounds like our bodies just find a sweet spot and say enough is enough! I am okay where I am at and wearing sizes 12/14 . i feel and look good and get lots of compliments...I also don't hide any more when the camera comes out. I am just glad I am not the only one that is finding this. I am not saying this will happen to everyone. We are all different along this journey. I will be seeing my doctor in a few weeks and hoping he will be able to explain why the weight isn't moving.

Hi this is normal, to feel this way it is fear of the unknown but trust me once you have the surgery you will be glad that you did I know I do. Good luck on your pending surgery and congrats.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
